I can't give you ten Xbox 360 exclusives, but I can give you two that I would strongly reccomend

Gears of War 2 10/10

- If you don't know about this game then you have been living under a rock, but basically amazingly satisfying cover based shooting (and pick up GeoW 1 if you haven't)

Lost Odyssey 9/10

- A nice old fashioned turn based jRPG, that you can really get stuck into. Good graphics, good story, good gameplay. This game pretty much has it all apart from me getting annoyed at inventory systems as usual

Yeah, I think Gears2 is a dead cert. Actually, on that, I was surprised to read that Gears 1 has less content than the PC version. Is that actually true? I find it a pretty odd situation if so.

And, yes, Lost Odyssey, I think, looks a good pick-up to me. And if you're not annoyed at the inventory system, it just isn't a proper RPG!

And can you really not make a full top ten of exclusives? Really? Or have you just not played many of them?

Well if you were to look through my 360 collection, the only non-PC ones are those 2 I have mentioned and Fable II, which I don't really reccomend (especially not 3).  And GeoW had more content on PC, but I think that was because of a late release, as Gears was rushed out a little to be the big game of the holiday, so had a large chunk of its story cut

If you are interested in XBLA, the one that stands out is Shadow Complex, just an amazing all round game, a decent story, fun to play, good graphics and I think it is now on sale

Well, that all makes sense. And no recommendation for Fable? Oh dear, I was quite looking forward to giving that a go. Any reason for the dislike?

And, yes, Shadow Complex has moved up to a 'must buy' I think.

no split-screen co-op for Gears. Makes the 360 version much superior.

I have no desire to get into a pissing match here. Whilst I don't see how split-screen co-op somehow makes the 360 version 'much superior' when balanced by the superior graphics, extra levels, extra multi-player maps, and level editor of the PC version, clearly you do. Personally, I never found the lack of split-screen an issue, but that could be because I have 4 PCs in my house.

Really, if you feel the split-screen is so important to you, then, clearly, for you, it is the better version. However, if I'm trying to be objective, I find it very hard to argue that.

My favourite exclusives (with my score):

1. Gears of War 2 - 96
obvious reasons
2. Halo Reach - 96
obvious reasons
3. Halo 3 - 94
obvious reasons
4. Project Gotham Racing 4 - 92
best current gen arcade racer IMO. Cars, bikes, different types of weather, beautiful tracks and quite a few different modes.
5. Burnout Revenge - 91
best from last gen. Insanely addicting and beautiful to look at in HD.
6. Blue Dragon - 91
annoying characters but one of the best turn based RPGs I've ever played. Very colourful and clean visuals and character/enemy design by Akira Toriyama.
7. Crackdown  - 91
pure madness and jumping over rooftops doing some orb hunting might be the best thing ever created
8. Alan Wake  90
great visuals and incredible story
9. Forza Motorsport 3  - 90
also great graphics and great driving gameplay. Loading times are a bit annoying though
10. Crackdown 2   - 89
actually took everything that made Crackdown so great and improved some smaller bits. If you've never played the first one get this instead it's the better game. I just didn't rate it as good, because it's really more like a Crackdown 1.5.
11. Lost Odyssey  - 89
fantastic story, great characters and great (though not Blue Dragon great) turn based RPG gameplay.
12. Dead Or Alive 4 - 88
Except for an annoying end boss, this is a very well done beat'em up. character faces look very anime like and unrealistic by nowadays standards though.
13. Halo Wars  - 88
Best RTS on consoles. Best CGI cutscenes I've seen in my life. Easy controls, but not dumbed down at all. As a Halo fan this game is a must have.
14. Saints Row - 87
Not as good as Saints Row 2, but if you're a fan of the second one or a classic GTA game this is definitely worth checking out.
15. Too Human - 86
great cyborg/nordic setting and no button mesher due to the right stick attacks. might take some time to adjust, but it's really well done. For a RPG it is a bit short though with 11 hours.
16. Kinect Sports - 86
I think you already have it or are planning to get it so I'm skipping this one
17. Halo 3 ODST - 86
better story than the previous Halo games (2 and 3), but the level design is not as good and overall it's a bit short.
18. Project Gotham Racing 3 - 86
Worth checking out even if you own PGR4 as there are quite a lot of different tracks. Career mode isn't as long and there's not that much to do after completing it and no bikes.
19. Forza Motorsport 2  - 86
good racer, though not worth it if you get Forza 3 instead.
20. Fable 2  - 85
combat is good (though could be better), but the star of the show is undoubtedly the social interactions which can create incredible funny situations.

XBLA:

1. Trials HD - 95
addicting, easy at first and incredibly challenging as it goes on. very good improvements over Trials 2 i.e. 3d world and dynamic physics of other objects that can change the outcome of every trial.
2. Limbo - 94
incredible atmosphere, cleverly done and thrilling. bit short though
3. Shadow Complex - 93
pretty long game, great level design, cool suit abilities
4. Comic Jumper - 87
gameplay is a bit repetitive, but the dialogues are hilarious.
5. Ilomilo - 85
good puzzle game, with nice visuals.
6. Splosion Man - 84
fun platformer though the level design is a bit repetitive
7. South Park Tower Defense - 83
as a South Park fan a must have. Cool bonuses and good game though preferably played by 2 players or more.
8. Hydrophobia - 80
good, story driven gameplay. bit short

Gears issues aside, this is a bloody marvellous wee list. Thanks for all the extra commentary, as it gives me more of an idea what the games are like.

Thank you very much. I will return to this later when I get online with the console.

Cool. Plenty for you to enjoy. Here is what I consider the top 10 exclusives.

1. Alan Wake. Completely and utterly awesome. Best Phsychological Horror game ever. Not just this gen.

2. Halo Reach. Brilliant shooter. The best Exclusive shooter money can buy.

3. Forza Motorsport 3. Truly great simulation series. Worth playing before the mighty Forza 4 later this year.

4. Halo 3. Not quite as good as Reach, but still above the rest.

5. Lost Odyssey. Best JRPG this generation. Even today.

6. Ninja Blade. Seriously underrated Hacker this. From Software made an enjoyable over the top game. Well worth it.

7. PGR 4. Best sim/arcade racer out there. Seriously this game is fantastic.

8. Halo Wars. Best console RTS. Nuff said.

9. Halo ODST. Slower paced and more stealthy. But still Halo at heart. No more needs saying.

10. Fable 3. 360 is the king of WRPG's. And Fable 3 is one of those kings. ( Excuse the pun ).

I could add more but that can be for another time.

Arcade games:

1. Hardcore Uprising. Brilliant side scrolling shooter.

2. Shadow Complex. You have to play this.

These are all I currently own on XBLA.

Thanks for the list. Great stuff. I have a query (for you, or anyone else, really). Lots of people have mentioned Ninja Blade. What makes it so spiffy?

Also, it's becoming clear that I have to buy Shadow Complex.

No forza for me...racing sims are so boring..Mario Kart / burnout series are the only racing games I enjoy

Thanks for your list, though it contains several games I own on other platforms, it does contain one I'd forgotten about completely: Bully. Is that simply a port of the PS2 game? Or is it a complete reworking for the 360. I missed it first time around, so think I'd quite like to play it if it's all HD pretty. :D

top 10 in no particular order

1 Halo 3/ ODST/ Reach

2 Gears 1/2

3 Fable 2/3

4 Mass Effect 1/2

5 Lost Odyssey

6 Infinite Undiscovery

7 Alan Wake

8 Crackdown 1/2

9 Forza 2/3

10 Halo Wars <- Best RTS I have played on a console by far

Thanks very much for dropping in with your views. Again, it includes a few games I have on other platforms (Mass Effect and Gears), but does include one I know pretty much nothing about: Infinite Undiscovery. How's this one? Any reason to pick it up?

Risk factions was a fun little game too. I think I've clocked somewhere about 100 hours on it now, both online and offline with friends, world domination is fun.

Other than that, I can't really add anything new to the lists but I can highly recommend Halo Wars and Lost Odyssey, again.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Is it possible you (or anyone else) can add a little info on the following titles: Magna Carta 2, Espgaluda II, Deathsmiles, KOF Sky Stage, Strania, Triggerheart Exelica, and the excellently titled 'The Dishwasher Vampire Smiles'?

Risk: Factions is a great little game. It's also on PSN. Good recommendation. As for the other two, given they've been so heavy recommended, I think they are both dead certs, especially as I like both strategy and JRPG games. :D

Yeah I chose series as opposed to single games, like mass effect imo you need 1 and 2 for the full story *shrugs* that may be just me haha, sort of same with Gears of War. But choosing 10 and having 3 odst, reach and 3 is kinda cheating for mine :)

Infinte Undiscovery is quite like Lost Oddysey as a little hidden gem, like Blue Dragon the best Turn Based games (ff type) have been on the 360 in those 3 imo. IU requires a bit more time in making things etc but if you get your head around it lots and lots of fun :)

Also Bayonetta if its not fixed on the ps3 you need this version :D
