nope it not going to happen because microsoft help remedy fund alan wake 1 so in reality microsoft owns the alan wake ip

Remedy owns the IP, but I would imagine MS locked them to contract. Perhaps a trilogy like Gears of War.

It doesn't matter if it's your second "tug" or tenth, it's still milk.

Nor does it matter if it's the first, so the first game in a franchise is milking it. Face ot, it was a ridiculous criticism

Actually, M$ own the publishing rights to the series. The same as they own the publishing rights to Gears Of War series. These 2 series can never appear on another system.

Alan Wake 2? Not sure I am ready for more dudes with axes and flying crows. Maybe they thow in a dude with a chainsaw this time...

Seriously though, they were making a psychological thriller action shooter sandboxish game...and pretty much establish narrative rules where they can throw almost anything at the gamer and have it fit the story...and all they can come up with is dudes with axes and bigger dude with an axe.

If it wasn't for those 2 DLC chapters which were properly trippy, I'd say the game was quite lackluster.

So sure Remedy, make more of em...milk it to death. If you're stuck with ideas, throw zombies in.

Pay attention, folks.  Here's a big fan of a console that doesn't feel obligated to prop up every single big exclusive released for it.  Watch and learn.

Releasing a single sequal hardly counts as milking the franchise, for milking, see CoD or Guitar Hero.

Yeah, I don't get the milking comment either. Sequels aren't allowed now? It's not like they weren't talking about future games from the getgo, so I don't exactly see how this is surprising.

It doesn't matter if it's your second "tug" or tenth, it's still milk.

Dont get it??

So by releasing a sequal they are milking it, I guess every sequal Nintendo or Sony makes is crap also right? sigh

Cant wait for Alan Wake2

Sequels are fine... But I prefer sequel announcements for games that stayed fresh and relevant all the way through. Games like Bayonetta stayed fresh and original till the end credits sequence. Bring on Bayonetta 2...

Alan Wake on the other hand ran out of ideas and set pieces half way in and was already milking it with gameplay.

Unless they have some fresh new take on the situation (maybe a new protagonist who isn't a writer but an ex-soldier or something trapped in the town?) I can't see them squeezing much out of Mr Wake for the sequel.

They own the publishing rights to the games theyve released, sequels could easily appear on other platforms if the developers found new publishers, epic have said this countless times about Gears, which makes me think after the trilogy, Gears spinoffs will go multiplatform.

As for who owns the ip for alan wake i dont know, but if its the same deal setup as gears then it could go multiplatform.

Epic said Gears will never appear on another platform. Couple together with the publishing rights continuing with Gears 3. They are publishing rights not ownage rights. Also Microsoft owns part of the technology that is used to make Gears Of War. It says so on Epics website.

lol...yes one cant BS Darth. He has a good eye for posts that fluffing console exclusives.

I like a lot of 360 games, and I even like survival horror genre...but I thought this game was lacking.
Wasnt meant to be I guess.

I do indeedy!

You talk up and defend the 360 all of the time.  It's refreshing to show everyone you're not a fanboy about it, though.  My cousin has every console known to man and wasn't big on AW either.  Nor Heavy Rain.  Yeah, he wouldn't fit in too well with this community, lol.
