Forums - Nintendo - Rumor H.V. Water Effects

Here's a rumor for you guys from a trusted, anonymous source...

- High Voltage was contacted by Nintendo roughly 4 months ago
- High Voltage was asked to send over all water-related assets
- Nintendo was very interested in physics-based water details

If this information is the real deal, this would point to some other water-related project outside of Fluidity. Remember, Nintendo wasn't the sole developer on Fluidity, so this rumor pertains to another project. We also recall Miyamoto saying that one of his recent hobbies was swimming. Could this all be a coincidence?

Super Mario Blue Ocean confirmed?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Wave Race Wii would interest me...

The water effects in Conduit 2 are considered very good. I'm not sure Nintendo would work with HVS on an established franchise though... Perhaps Wave Race for 3ds? But I think maybe a smaller original title is more likely.

Don't forget Nintendo are perfectly capable of creating their own amazing water, as seen in Blue Storm and Sunshine.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

If they did I hope they have them under strict oversight.

Wave Race Wii?

Not only did Miyamoto mention he'd been swimming but he also mentioned wanting to bring a new character, what I would assume would be the Wii, this year.

Echo the Porpoise, coming soon :P

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Why would they need better water effects than what they had in Super Mario Galaxy?
