| Metallicube said: I've been saying this all last year, but people called my a fanboy/hater/crazy/whatever. Now suddenly I can buy a used Kienct for $99, and amazon is sending me emails for a $50 giftcard if I buy Kinect. The fall is already starting, as expected. It's a simple concept. The hardware needs games in order to keep selling, even a hardware add on like Kinect, because GAMES are its primary purpose. If it doesn't get the games, there is no longer a reason to buy the hardware. Kinect Sports and Dance Central can only do so much. Even the phenomenal success NSMB Wii could only carry Wii for about a year. |
That's basically what I was saying most of last year. Kinect didn't have a Wii Sports/Fit-caliber release to keep sales afloat for more than several months.
It'll still do fairly well, but it needs new software, and I don't see much in its upcoming line up that will reinvigorate sales significantly.
