Forums - Gaming Discussion - Gaming Books Recommendations

Along with gaming, I also enjoy reading, especially non-fiction. Therefore, whenever I find a good book that combines the two, I jump at the chance to read it. Does anyone here have any recommendations for books about gaming, gaming history, or even just books that deal with the similar culture (nerds!)? Below I have a couple books, if you haven't read, are a must!

I assume this is fiction based on the Resisance games? I've never been to big into fiction, unless it's very well written. Is this like a small paperback, or a pretty well done novel?

Two excellent choices there.

I would add Masters of Doom to the list

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Very interesting. I really know nothing about how Doom or Id came about. I'll have to order this one!

Edit: Ordered!

I noticed on the rolentapress site, that Gameinformer called this the number 2 gaming book ever.
I'm not sure how I feel about a recomendation from Gameinformer, but since you've read, I'll give it a go! Thanks.

I know that you said non fiction, but I read both The Stolen Throne (Dragon Age) and The Last Wish (The Witcher) and they are superb! Maybe you won't be interested at all but others who try your thread might do.
