Just because Wii development is cheaper than PS3/360 doesn't make it cheap. What you seem to be describing is much more akin to PC or app development.

Just think about all the Generation Y's sitting at home that could be working right now.

Wasn't that only in response to teams that make those cheap iPhone games; like ones fewer than 10 men/women?

I don't think the OP was really planning on raising a few million in capital to open up offices, pay employees, buy devkits, etc.

World of Goo was made by three people.

Its not like any of us have the money to do that.
But How much would a DevKit cost to buy? The point im trying to make is, if a bunch just decided to do it. Whats really stoping them?

I think it was around $1700 a few years back. Not sure if they dropped the price. I know sony did, but their sdk's used to cost around $20,000.
And anyways, you need to be licensed by Nintendo to release a game on their platforms, and considering Reggie's recent comments I don't think they'd be interested.
If you actually want to develop games try making something for PC. It will cost you much less, you won't have any other companies interfering, and if you release it on your own like Minecraft you won't have anyone else taking a cut. Of course the chances of success are incredibly slim, but that's what happens when you have no experience and no money.

Yeah, it would have to be loads of developers flooding the system (even if just ports of 6th gen games the Gamecube didn't have and current gen games the Wii was denied) in order to convince people that the Wii actually has games they want now.
Not saying it would happen (and considering the attitude of third parties, might even take figuratively holding them at gunpoint), just agreeing with you, and stating what actually would have to happen.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
1700. that not even that bad. The Wii isent going to magicly self destruct after Nintendo lauches its next gen.

All valid points, not to mention the size of the current user-base.... sigh...
Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!
