Why do you put up with non-transferable software license?

Buy (what you supposedly already own/license) 0 0%

Pirate (not paying again) 5 100.00%

Total:5

An obvious example, Windows OS OEM.

When you purchase a pre-built computer, it comes with Windows.

But that Windows cannot be transfered not the computer be upgraded or you lose the license.

I can understand it being license to just one computer at a time. So, say you remove the OS and install on another computer. It should be fair play.

Do you,

A) Buy a new OEM license for $150

B) Download a pirated copy

I don't buy software to begin with... Though I technically did pay for the OS on my laptop.

If I had lofta money I would just buy it again, but I don't.

I do not pay for software twice (if it's for personal use by myself only, here at work it's obviously a different situation).

Tha'ts the thing. If you upgrade your computer parts, you suddenly lost your license and you have to buy a new box to "legitimize" it.

OPEN SOURCE!!!

Besides my OS that is (windows). I generally have never upgrade my OS though, by the time a new one is out, I'm about due for a whole new computer so. For eveything else i can....
