Forums - General Discussion - How did you do on your SATs?

Soriku said:

I take my SATs next month so I'm gonna have to start studying for them soon.

Anyway, how did you do on your SATs? Did you think it was easy/hard? Which parts did you think was easy/hard? Any tips?

When I took my PSATs I scored a 1490 btw (didn't study or anything). How much harder is the SAT?

I got my last batch of exams coming up in May-June (8 of them) so I'll probably start revising for it thoroughly next week. How good is 1490 in the grander scheme of things?

I did really well. I only took it once. My worst score was on the Math part but then again I'm an English major so the reading and writing parts were easy.

My SAT score was stronger than my GPA so I didn't get in to my top choice colleges. I got into some good ones though but because of money ended up at a school I didn't really want to go to.

I didn't take the SAT I took the ACT (and scored a 25 or 26 I think)

As  I remember, studying doesn't help much with the SAT. The ACT it helps a bit, but the SAT - not as much.

It's not studying, it is practice that is needed. The more practice exams you take the more comfortable and familiar you will be for the test. There is a pretty simple methodology to tackling the test if you prepare for it.

Hmm. I'm really good with reading/vocab stuff, Math I'm not so sure. Math during standardized is generally fair but what about the SAT? How hard are those questions/what do they ask?

The math is kinda out there. The majority of it is simple enough but then they throw a bunch of shape problems and other higher end stuff that you may be too nervouse to tackle unless you are a math genius.
