Unfortunatley the game that Peter Jackson and MS were working on together got canceled. Basically there was a bunch of drama and Peter abandoned all thing Halo related because he claimed MS wouldn't allow him enough creative freedom. Which honestly I can't blame them for Halo is a MASSIVE franchise and something they really are trying to take care of and not get messed up, though I'm more than confidant Peter Jackson could have done something amazing.
The game was going to be called Halo Chronicles I believe.
Everyone seems to forget that this year is Huge third party year.
LOL at any RPG to go up against Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 both out this year.
Also L.A Noire is out during E3 and we also have Battlefield 3. I think it would be rediculous for anymore than 3 or 4 first party titles to come out this year. The year is looking great for any consoles, not really because of first party titles.
Mass Effect 3, Skyrim, UC3, Forza 4 and Gears 3 will be the top selling titles this year. Not in that order though. Third party offerings this year are pure golden.

That's why you release Killzone 3, Motorstorm, inFamous 2 and SOCOM 4 early, and save Uncharted 3, Resistance and Ratchet for Christmas!
The thing is 3rd party games will keep most Xbox fans happy, but they are not going to be selling Xboxes, there is still plenty of room for 1st party games as well as 3rd party games

Alan Wake was announced in 2005 at E3, it released in 2010. Fable 2 was announced in 2006 and was then released in 2008. Lost Odyssey was shown at TGS 06 and was released in 2008 Blue Dragon was announced in Feburary of 05 and was then released later in December 06. Mass Effect was announced in 2005 and released in 2007. Halo Reach was announced in June of 2009 and it was released over a year later in September of 2010. Halo 3 was announced in June of 2006 and released over a year later in 2007. Too Human for the 360 was announced in 2005 and was released in 2008. Spinter Cell: Conviction was announced in 2007 and was released in 2010. Fable 3 was announced in August in 2009 and was released over a year later in October in 2010. Mass Effect 2 was released a year after it's announcement. Gears of War 3 was announced in April of 2010 and it's being released well over a year later in September of 2011. I can probably find more, but basically, it's a myth. Just because Microsoft have the announcement and then release it shortly after a few times (Forza 3, Gears 2, Viva Pinata), it doesn't mean that the vast majority of their releases aren't announced a full year or more before they release. |
I never said they did? My point was they have one of the best track records for times vs release. Do you know how many top games were shown by M$ over a year ago that havent arrived yet. By your chart we will have 8 360 exclusives by years end. All Blockbusters.

to be honest I think the sheer number of PS3 exclusives this year is going to cannebalize sales. LittleBigPlanet 2 is already slowing down big time and Killzone 3 isn't matching Killzone 2's pace. With the sheer number of excellent 3rd party games available as well it kind of makes titles get drowned. Not that I'm complaining though its given me plenty of stuff to play!
And for the record 3rd party games do sell Xboxs. And PS3's.

LOL
you honestly don't think that MS is going to announce anything at E3? I can guarantee you there is still at the very least one large scale unanounced non-Kinect exclusive game coming this year.
