Forums - Gaming - When will 3rd parties take the Wii seriously?

I totally understand that it would be better to sell to let's say %30 of Wii owners compared to let's say %40 percent of PS3 owners. The only point I was trying to make is that you would expect Wii games to selling astronomical amounts considering the amount of Wii systems out there, but we're not seeing that.

That's the only point, I'm not trying to offend anyone or anything, and I understand sales numbers matter more than attach rates, especially when dev costs are a lot cheaper on the Wii.

I was just saying, I'd expect much larger software numbers, but who knows, maybe that will happen soon. Just saying.

Most expected the initial sales of SMG in Japan to be much higher than they were, and were severely disappointed.  Until now.

For the Wii, a lot of markets will be stranger than for the other consoles.  The DS will be the closest predictor, with the selling of pink DS going to the dogs, and whatever color sells BrainAge.  And even the DS won't predict it that well.

But if you try sometimes you just might find
You just might find
You get what you need"

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.

When they stop integrating the motion sensing capabilities of the wiimote as mere gimmicks into their games.

If you check out weekly software numbers, Wii has been in the lead for moving software since mid-November:

Of course, as Nintendo is the best developer on Wii, the vast majority of that software has been first party. It will be interesting to see how the first AAA third party game will do on the platform, when somebody gets around to making one.

It would be nice if nintendo spent a bit more money to get some nice 3rd party exclusives. Maybe they are waiting until their next console comes out??

every body seems to love the idea of Nintendo releaseing a Wii HD next year, and that's despite the fact they'll have to buy a new Nitendo console, but hey people love Nintendo and Nintendo loves sucking people for all their worth.

He didn't mention 'next year' at all.  He's talking about in 4-6 years when this next system comes out.

OT: Not that this means much, but out of my 15-odd Wii games, only 4 are from Nintendo (Zelda, Warioware, Galaxy, Prime)

In Australia, you can get the wii for 400 bucks which is the same as getting a 360 arcade, and for that money the 360 offers more
