If it won't be announced until the end of 2011, does that mean it is a 2012 game in Japan and a 2013 game in the US?

but how can that be?! The Wii's lifespan would have to be up by then and Dragon Quest X is a HUGE release.. maybe we'll see the actual game at the end of this year.

Maybe It'll be one of the Wii's final heavy hitters, like DQ IX for the DS.

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

So 2011 is lost for Wii in Japan.

If it's released in 2012 then it will really provide amazing hardware boost probably in a 1000% range except it will be from 5k to 50k for few weeks.

There is still hope if Nintendo announce a New New Super Mario Brothers for the Wii

It'll be called "New Super Mario Bros. Fit Party"

While its not new news to me, I was very happy when they announced the game would try to be like DQVIII.  But having to wait till the end of the year just for an announcement is frustrating.

Part of me thinks its the SquareEnix execs (see: Wada) who is keeping them so hush hush about development.  As they did back with DQIX since some 95% of SE advertising was focused entirely on FFXIII.  When is SE going to learn FF is no longer their bread and butter?

I dunno. I think that DQ>FF definitely now. I'm just glad Nintendo picked it up for Europe...

Also, I'm hopig they'll be a release in 2011, not just an announcement >.<

In terms of profit, Dragon Quest is definitely holding up SquareEnix.  In terms of popularity, it'll take many years for Dragon Quest to overtake Final Fantasy outside Japan.  Though it does seem to be taking hold well in Europe with nearly double the sales of America.  Few series released in Europe can boast they sell better than America, but Dragon Quest can.

Also, I expect it will be released in Japan in 2012.  I just hope the game doesn't get overlooked if Nitnendo announces their next system at E3 this year or next.  But considering the same thing happened with the N64 when DQVI released, I think it'll be safe for Japan.  Its internationally I'm worried about.

Heck, we still haven't even gotten Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, and the 3DS is already been launched.  And Dragon Quest Battle Road Victory for the Wii has never been brought over here.
