Forums - Nintendo - If you're an Ace Attorney fan and haven't bought Ghost Trick , be ashamed

If you own a DS and don't own Ghost Trick, something is horribly wrong.

The entire game maintains the same level of "holy shit!" tension as the last case in any of the Ace Attorney games, and if you're a fan of that series you'll understand what high praise that is. Hell, I almost hate to say it, but Ghost Trick's endgame honestly surpasses even the 'Turnabout on the Bridge' final case from Trials and Tribulations.

As for the gameplay--it's very well designed, very engaging, and functions much more as a "game" than the "gameplay" parts of the Ace Attorney games. Again, though, if you're a fan, you'll understand how unimportant the gameplay often becomes in a game created by Shu Takumi--the story and characters take the spotlight, and it's quite the show they put on.

This is a masterful game with clever gameplay, beautiful animation and some truly brilliant storytelling. Get it at all costs.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

WOW I want it

WAI I DID NAWT GET IT!

But it'll have to wait, spent money on getting 999 just now

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Thanks for the tip!

I absolutely love the Ace Attorney series and was really sad that no new game has been released in a long time (I did not play Miles Edgeworth Investigations because it was the first game in the series that wasn't translated to european languages, and with text-centric games like the Attorney series I really prefer to have the texts in my native language).

Thanks again, I will definitely be having a look at this game the next time I get to the game store!

meh ok i'll get it for the girlfriend ^^ she loves Ace.... (not more than me)

I actually started falling asleep on Ace games (since I like to read everything...)

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

It's a great game, but I wouldn't say it has the same appeal as Ace Attorney for me. Same writing style, same quirkiness, but the gameplay is fundamentally different, and the gameplay naturally integrated with story is actually what I found great about AA.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

I was thinking of getting it, but it was already sold out at the places I usually buy my games at. Shortly afterwards I found out that the game is (or going to be) available on iOS for a much smaller price, so Capcom apparently doesn't want me to buy Ghost Trick.

Yeah, I think I made a post sometime ago about them porting it to iPad for a cool $9.99 price tag with upgrade graphics.

That's when I thought. F it. I'll buy it for $10 on DS when I see one.

If third party publishers are willing to devalue their games like that, so be it. It's not me who is going to lose money through such practices. Actually, it saves me money, because I buy nothing.

I don't see it as devalue but more an unfair treatment. They are charging iPad owner 1/3 the price for the same game.
