Because it doesn't have a base to sell to. You cannot sell 400k games on a 700k base. Attach rate-wise, it's ahead, though I'm not gonna use that an argument for why it's gonna outsell the original since it'll most likely drop at least slightly over time.

So? It's still possible. Maybe not likely, in your opinion, but certainly possible. You may think it won't have the same legs as it isn't a new experience anymore, but that doesn't render it impossible in general.

No, but seriously, there's really no argument other than "it's not a fresh game anymore" against it which is subjective and hasn't always proven true in the market so it's anything but impossible.

The userbase for 3DS is much diffrent than that of DS so far. While DS was bought by everyone in Japan, 3DS is more of a handheld for Nintendo faitfull and hardcore gamers and will likely stay that way till Pokemon/mario kart etc hits and it goes more into mainstream.

Somebody's a Nintendo hater. It may sell terribly (not counting on that), but it won't lose money.

On topic, I find it ridiculous that, right after the disasters, everything but the 3DS is well outperforming expectations and that the 3DS appears to be collapsing. Makes no sense.
