LOL !!!!
Great work on the op man, great looking and a ton of info, so thanks for that.
I played a ton of competitive MK1/MK2 at the arcades when I was younger. Wasn't ranked nationally or anything, but felt like I could hold my own with the best of them. Johhny Cage was my preferred fighter 'cause I used to love taking advantage of the CD in MK1 and taking off there head then nut-punching them after I beat someone.
Sadly those days are long gone, now I'm sure i'd get my ass handed to me. Regardless this looks like a great re-boot so I will definitely be buying this game!
I wasn't too hyped for this game and I've traditionally been a Street Fighter Fan (though I did play a bit of MK1-MK5) but I may have to pick this game up. I've been extremely impressed by what I've seen thus far. I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten more responses. Maybe as we get closer to release date? It looks like the MK team is doing everything they can to satisfy gamers with this game. I hope it sells a ton.

The hype for this game over here on Vgchartz is nowhere close to what its like pretty much everywhere else. Its kinda sad really.
Btw, what do you guys think of Smoke's new look ? I think its awesome that NRS is working hard to make the ninjas unique, but the hair is a little too much, eh ?

I like every character design. When I saw sheevas face on character select screen I thought "oh dear
" but after seeing her render I think she looks amazing.
Only 2 ish weeks to go, woo!!
They just jacked the price for this game in Canada by $10 out of nowhere. I suppose the launch copies would be going to the hardcore fanbase who would be willing to pay much more.
My hype for the game has been dropping a little lately....
I know it's been like this in almost every MK but, everyone having the same normal attacks in the air, along with all crouched attacks also pretty much doing the same thing doesn't sound very exciting. I'm worried about the characters not feeling "unique" compared to eachother. It won't be as bas as Crapcom putting multiple shoto clones in one game but still worries me just a little.
I'm also probably letting this video get to me more than it should:

That video is from a demo build which is months old and its probably against easy difficulty AI or something. Mileena could easily duck under cage, and sweep him and follow up with a teleport kick or something.
I don't think you have to worry about characters not feeling unique. NRS have made conscious efforts to balance the game, and give each character some individuality. The punches and kicks of Sub-Zero and Mileena feel different in the demo.
Sub-Zero feels kinda slow, but big hitting and Scorpion is considerably faster, yet his combos do less damage from what I've played. There are differences in how each character plays.
While the basic attacks do pretty much the same thing, each character has their own mini-specials. They are combo moves that incorporate each character's ability into attacks. Scorpion has these series of kicks that ends with a fiery backflip kick, and sub-zero can punch you a twice and the third punch will freeze you in mid air (for a much shorter time than a normal freeze move). There are definite subtle variations like that in the game.
