Day 1!!!

More than 1.800 hours in MH3tri Wii.

Holy shit!  1,800 hours?  Seems like you might have played a little too much.  Those hours are on par with my WoW addiction a few years back.  I only have about 130 hours so far for MH3 (highest playtime games for me on Wii are Animal Crossing ~ 300 hours and WaW/BO combined ~ 500 hours).  What is your HR rank?

Well, he'd better be at least HR100! 1,800 hours?! Where does a person find that kind of time? I think I've spent about 75 hours so far on my copy (bought in December). Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn holds the play record for me (~220 hours). MH3 is extremely deep, and I can see how people would spend close to 500 hours on it....But 1,800? He must know everything about the game.

Your Fire Emblem comment reminds me...  I still haven't even touched the game after getting it used last Christmas (Radiant Dawn).  I am still working on FE on GBA (also have sacred stones that I was going to play after the first GBA).  It takes me awhile for FE sometimes because if I lose one character I always restart the level.  Maybe I should just let a few people die here and there but I know I will always restart.  I have so many games on backlog that I seriously don't need to buy any more games.

Also, you can go up to HR 999 which I am not sure why someone would try and get their HR that high.

Oh. I have all of the FE games that were released in the USA, so... Tons of fun. And don't worry....I don't let anyone die, either. Even on H5 of FE:SD. Bwahahaha...That was an exercise in patience. If you're that worried about it, just play easy mode. No biggie. It makes it easier to enjoy the game, especially if you haven't played in a while.

Basically, my game interest progression has looked like: Advance Wars--->Fire Emblem--->Metroid--->Monster Hunter. I still love all four series, though, so if a new FE or AW came out, I'd be all over it.

I have a backlog, too (Metroid, still working on Goldeneye, gonna' pick up NSMBW soon, have to finish DKCR and MarioKart...I just don't have the time).

Uhhh...HR 999? That's...Wow. I've hunted with an HR 200 hunter, but nothing above that. It's great how people are really nice to new players, even online. I'm only HR9 at the moment. I'm an okay player, but I feel like an idiot when I enter a "Beginners Welcome" room and then an HR 100-200 person wants to come along and help. I feel like all I do is sit around and get hit by the monster. But they're always like, "Don't worry. Have fun! You were a great help."

At least they're nice about it.

Anyone think this will be the next game in the Monster Hunter Freedom series? That would make it MH Freedom 4.

A sequel to Monster Hunter 3?

Or Just Monster Hunter 3D not fitting any particular series?

MH Freedom 3D

That indeed makes the most sense of all.

For the sake of puns Monster Hunter 3Dom.

That, sir, was absolutely hilarious!

Anyway, I would definitely buy a 3DS version of MH, especially seeing as how it's sometimes difficult for me to fit in playing time on MH3...A portable version would be much better. And if it's system exclusive, NGP's dead. If it's not system exclusive, then that means that NGP will have exactly three blockbuster titles in Japan. Big whoop.

I heard that the camera control for the PSP versions took some getting used to (ie. it was horrible, but bearable once you learned it). If Capcom's planning on using the touch screen for camera control, there'd better be something good for Southpaws (like me). Actually.... I wonder how it would work. Let's see here...

Slide Pad: Camera, Touch Screen: Attacks, Face Buttons: movement

Slide Pad: Movement, Touch Screen: Camera, Face Buttons: Attack

Ahhh... This is weird. I wonder how Capcom would do it.

You will only be needing the shoulder buttons, touch screen and the slider.

Slider to move around. Touch screen for both camera and attack as with the Wii version you can never move the camera and attack at the same time.

Having buttons on the screen in a rectangular form leaving the centre for camera movements. But so that you do not accidently press an attack button while your moving the camera you have to lift the stylus off the screen and then pressing one of the attack buttons.

The buttons left can be used for items that you can assign too them

I don't mind if it's a port of one of the Freedom games as I just got into MH with the Wii version and I love it. Too bad I sold my psp before I knew it had a good series on it. The 3D combined with the smaller screen will make it look better then the psp version or the wii version for that matter.

Bloody hell, a Monster Hunter in 3D will give Capcom a licence to print money. If this turns out to be true I'd say that Capcom are the third party that's put the most into 3DS development since it was announced. 2 Resident Evil titles and a Monster Hunter title...IPs don't get much bigger than that.

I'm really surprised that EA and Activision haven't released any big-name IP games during this launch window, I was expecting a CoD 3D, Medal of Honor 3D and a FIFA 3D at least. Activision in particular have been pretty quiet regarding 3DS titles...the only one I can think of in this launch window is DJ Hero 3D later this year. :o/

If Nintendo manges to keep this exclusive for 3DS.... it will outsell DS in Japan for sure.

I sure hope Ubisoft does not hear this >_>

NO CAPCOM please!!!! Want the next MH for PSP 2 or PS3, atleast then we get something great with new better graphics. 3DS is like a psp with 3D(just slighty better graphics). With 3DS it will just look like the psp game which is great but it's a new generation now and I want some better graphics.

Get out. I dont care what console it's on. I just want the game.

Agreed. If you kivi95 didn't get MHTri because of this issue it's your own fault, you're missing out on one of the greatest games OF ALL TIME

Also, the 3DS version could add better graphics, better controls, wi-fi, street pass and online multi-player. Sounds like a massive improvement to me, and I'm already anticipating it greatly

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

We will know soon enough :)

Don't understand some people's obsession with graphics. MHTri's graphics were more than adequate for the gameplay. Less loading would be good, however.
