Well I just finished the game and I must say it was a great game. I was a little disappointed by the ending but I'm pretty much disappointed by every ending. Final mission was gorgeous and thats all I'll say. I'll say overall it is the best looking console game. As I said earlier if you want to make an argument for Uncharted 2 or Killzone 3 I would understand but IMO Crysis 2 has a slight edge on them. Anyone saying it isn't close is just being a fanboy. Crysis 2, Killzone 3, Uncharted 2 and  God of War 3 are in a different league. Crysis 2 proves the 360 can do what the PS3 can do. We just have to see someone push the hardware. Gears 3 should do it again.

I don't give a shit if its 1152 X 720 and not 1280 X 720. The difference between those two aren't even noticeable by the human eye. Enough of the "its sub HD" arguments. You're acting like its a Wii game. You can come up with 100 million arguments and I still think its the best looking console game.  Look at the poll. I'm not the only one that thinks its the best looking console game. In fact the poll is pretty even between no and yes. Do the math. There are 17 no's so you split those up between Killzone 3, Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 and that makes 5 votes for one and 6 votes for the other 2 for best looking console game. Crysis 2 has 15 votes. I guess it really is the best looking console game. Your poll backfired.

Edit: I see there are 17 for no but best looking 360 game. 17 plus 17 = 34 / 3 = Uncharted 2 = 11 average, God of War 3 = 11 average, Killzone 3=12 average, Crysis 2 = 15 votes. Crysis 2 still wins. You should have made your poll more specific if you wanted Crysis 2 to lose.

Um Crysis 2 wasn't on the list and wasn't out when the poll was made .  I might as well pull up a list from 1995 and say Mortal Kombat is the best looking game of all time.

But Mortal Kombat is sub-HD.....

I've been waiting for your verdict on the matter, IMO you are actually what Fox News claims to be: fair and balanced. To be sure you're not the only one, and it's good to see that all of the objective assessments I've read of VGC dwellers have come up with the same verdict. And of course Digital Foundry has more cred on these things than just about anyone else. My reading of DF's overall assessment is excellent job, but not quite best of the best.

Just remember there isn't always an apostrophe in "its", but 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

I see people putting down Crysis 2 because at times, there's texture pop-in, frame rate drops, and such.  I've even seen a post where a pic of Crysis was shown and someone said, "Yeah it looks good.  If it looked that good all the time, it would be the best looking game, ever."

Isn't that how we've always done it?  Show a pic of the submarine in Uncharted and claim it's the best of all time?  Now, all of a sudden texture pop-in (which almost all of the powerhouses have) and such are such a big deal? 

Nope because that's an impossible call to make objectively.  And subjective calls are simply that, subjective opinions.

Unless someone can explain to me how you compare say GT5 engine to Crysis 2 engine to Wipeout HD engine to Alan Wake engine in a way that allows you to objectively declare some form of superiroty.
