I have been playing it for quite a bit and im up to mission 4 "road rage" or sumthing and so far I would say definitly not but I am looking forward to what crysis 2 has yet to show me graphically.

Only game that is even in the same category is Killzone 3 which imo looks better than Crysis. Crysis uses a nicer color scheme though, so it looks prettier (even though KZ3 is technically better) but the PC version is superb. UC2 and GOW3 looks good, but really now; they have scripted sequences going on in the background, which is not the same as interactive stuff. It might fool somebody, but its really just a trick.

If both versions are SUB HD resolution than no,  its not.

yeah, it seems to improve as the campain goes on.

but it still has frame rate issue, and pop in. if it werent for the many technically issues i would say its tied for the best.

oh and by the way you were right about the rainy levels they look great

Up until Crysis 2 released I was convinced it couldn't beat KZ3 or God or War 3 but honestly when its running at its best, it is without question the best looking game on console. The thing is there are times where there is some graphical issues so I haven't quite decided if I'm going to label it as THE BEST yet. All I can say though is there are times in Crysis where it is at a whole different level than any other games released.

I voted no, only on xbox.

I finally went to the store to buy Dead Space 2 and Mass Effect 2, but after all the buzz i just had to get Crysis 2, skipped ME2.

Since the thread is about graphics, i will only state my impression on it's graphics. No, this is not the best looking game on consoles, but definitely the best multiplat FPS graphics. I even convinced my friend to bring his xbox over so i can compare ps3 and xbox and i can say that both versions are the same, just in a very few moments the xbox version looks a bit more sharp. Not enough to define the ps3 version obsolete. The game is beautiful nonetheless, but not the best.

I find it hard to believe that people here/reviews claim it is better than KZ3 and U2. Thats actually one of the main reasons that made me buy it. But there is absolutely no way this game looks better. I put in U2 and KZ3 after playing Crysis and there is just no way. I even tried to convince myself but like i said there is no way it dethrones KZ3 or U2 in graphics.

And i am convinced on my opinion toward certain people here who claim otherwise, when it is clear they have not played KZ or Uncharted atleast to some extent.

No. It's sub-HD.

Uncharted 2 is the king yet.

I can prove I have a Platinum trophy in KZ3, have played the multiplayer extensively, and played the crap out of KZ2.  I can also prove I've played a ton of Uncharted 1 and 2.

And I think theres a strong argument for Crysis being at the very least tied with them.  Theres portions of Crysis that are easily superior to both Uncharted and Killzone.  That being said Killzone and Uncharted are both right there, and all 3 are fantastic looking games.

Im relieved to see someone like you exists. I should have rephrased that so i wouldn't offend many. I admit i was targetting a few people.

And i agree with you Crysis deserves to be one of top best graphics games, but i think the game fails to keep itself consistent. Some parts look so good and definitely on par with the best ps3 exclusives but then there are other parts where it can look good, then average(specifically texture detail). But man, oh the lighting is awesome. More games need that lighting!
