Forums - Gaming - The Wii doominated the living room

The latest poll from Nielsen referring to home consoles now says that of all purchased current generation consoles, over 50% of them reside in the family rooms of American homes.  Out of those three though, the Wii is the most likely to take that coveted spot.

Specifically, the Wii takes that spot in the family room at 59% of the time between the big three.  Nielsen relates to the Wii as Nintendo’s strategy for a “motion-controlled, social gaming style.”

PS3 and Xbox 360 show up 52% and 45% of the time, respectively.

Well we already knew it was the family friendly system, but its not significantly higher than 360.

I'm guessing the 360 percentage could get higher with Kinect. Its generally the only area in the house that has enough room for it.

I dunno.  That gap is around about 6 million difference between the 360 and Wii...and I doubt many who have a Wii in their living room will also want to add a 360...

I personally thought the PS3 and 360 would be higher, or above, those of the Wii, due to mulitmedia devices, Sky etc. Guess games really are more important on a gaming device

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I have all three of my consoles hooked up to my main TV in the living room. I wonder how many fans had both 360/Wii hooked up or even the few PS3 fans who like other consoles!
