Forums - Gaming - Which of the three will be first out of the gate next gen?

PS4 will be in 4 dimentions, it will be just a console like in HACK anime.
That will be somewhere in 2012-2015.

IF FFXIII will bring the graphics, which we saw in E3 2k6 trailer. That CGI graphics will be good enough for a loooong time.
I just recently played PC game - Age of Mythology, and even today i like how graphics looks. =)

The only 2 ways of going on next gen console, it is deliver 3d graphics which is not close to real life, but just looks like real life.
GT5: prologue looks close to real life, if in GT5 or GT6 they will be able to reach such quality = real life.. who will need x720 or ps4?

The second way is 4 dimension, and i don`t see that happening earlier then in 2012.

[Random insane Sony marketing blurbleness]

What is four dimensional graphics? Super Mario in a Klein Bottle?

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

Microsoft and Sony will try to stay as long as possible because of big investments. Nintendo won't be able to compete with HD systems. Definitely Wii will be out first.

@Game_boy:
go and watch HACK anime, then come back. Or better,
DON`T COME BACK! =))

Well MS and Sony will have to make a choice.  If Wii downright wins this generation, then both MS and Sony will take collosal losses.  Meaning they'll have to make a choice to ride it out and hopefully be able to last another few years to break even.  Or they'll have to drop their respective consoles and go into the 8th generation and start over. This is even if Wii only wins itself.  Due to Wii's success this early, both MS and Sony are put in difficult posistions for their consoles of the future.  As the future isn't looking that bright.

In 2011 the performance difference between the hardware that could be launched for $200/$300 and the PS3 (or XBox 360) is similar in size to the performance difference between the PS3 (or XBox 360) and the Wii. At the same time, 5 years of research and development from any of the companies on the next generation Wiimote is likely going to produce an input device which is far better for motion controlled games as well as conventional games.

Basically, between Q3 of 2010 and Q4 2012 all three companies will have released new hardware because they will be obsolete in comparison to the competition.

NES was primitive when it launched, it lasted 10 years in NA and 20 in Japan

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

I doubt Nintendo is going to go with a remote controller for next gen, I think they will try to make it even more natural by going with a system that works more like the computer in Minority report, just using your hand

I do not think Nintendo will come out with a HD-Wii in 2-3 years either. HD-TV owners are buying the Wii anyway, so why bother?

Plus all 3 have gone on record saying they don't want to start a new generation in 4-5 years. 3rd parties would rather no one did either as transistion periods hurt everyone.

That said, eventually their will be one. Could go in any direction, including being started by a new competitor to the field. Nintendo would be best positioned to introduce one earliest.

I don't believe that 10 year garbage from Sony or MS, both of them aren't going to stick with consoles that are going to top out around 30 million in WW sales one will launch in 5 years at most

If they ditch this generation early then either MS or Sony will end up in the red for an entire generation like the xbox was.  MS could afford that once, but not twice (shareholders will have a fit) and I doubt Sony could stomach that kind of loss even once.  As long as everyone has nothing to gain by an early start, they'll hold off and actually let profits happen.
