The thing is he has it pre ordered allready and can stay at home and get it when it comes out.

At the time of the Wii launche we could not pre order it

What I was able to pre-order my Wii. However EBGames only took five pre-orders and you had to trade in a GameCube to qualify the other option was to buy the console outright.

However EBGames didn't just tell you when they were going to start taking pre-orders. You had to go in and ask pretty much every day. Then suddenly one day they were like "Were taking five pre-orders tomorow at openning time". I went out to my local store and found like 2 people already lined up at like 1 in the afternoon. I thought holy crap if I don't camp out I won't get my Wii. So I ran home grabbed my DS (Wasn't working that day) ran back and sat down in line. Turns out they were also taking PS3 pre-orders the next morning so Sony fans were lining up as well.

I gotta admit the experiance was pleasant. Sure it was cold out and it rained abit. But I sat their talking to the other Nintendo fans while playing DS all evenning. Of course the Sony fans huddled in a circle playing PSP's while us Nintendo fans huddled playing our DS's.

Then the day before Wii launched a friend called me up and said "Hey EBGames is going to sell any pre-ordered system if the purchaser isn't at the store when it opens". I went to my local EBGames and the employee was like "I don't know if thats true, but my manager is out so I can't confirm, you may want to camp out just to be safe". So I camped out a second time.

However after getting my Wii I found out EBGames has to hold your pre-order like 24-hours. So I'm never doing that again. With 3DS I just went to my EBGames every day asking when pre-orders were beginning till one day they said "Yes were taking pre-orders" And I was the first person to put down my pre-order!

Haha sounds fun :D

Haha they had only 5 at the local store in the little village that I lived in back then. So me and my friend decided to go and camp, so as soon as we could leave collage we went to the a shop and brought stuff that we could eat and drink. In the afternoon the weather was good but still cold and at night it was colder and rainy. Thank god my friends friend brought a tent or we would be in the cold rain…. It was a two mans tent and we were three in it haha

Two more people came an then we told everybody ells that wanted to stand in line that it was hopeless because there was only 5 Wiis. Poor guys but then in the middle of the night there was a flock of girls outside with their own tents and they were like guarding the entrance too the store.

Anyway this is a great memory now and it is fun to talk about it but I do not think I would be able to do a full week but then the guy had a plan so he could go home an shower and other stuff :P

These guys are doing it for the memories as it is fun but for me if I could preorder I would not sleep out like this guy is :P

Yah when I camped out suddenly a Nintendo fan came and gave me a hot chocolate. About an hour later another fan came and gave me a hot chocolate. Then an hour later the first fan comes up to me and was like "Hey its your turn to get everyone hot chocolate" I was going to say hell no but realized I guess everyone was buying each other hot chocolate. We kept doing hot chocolate/coffee runs all night.

We talked about gaming, exchanged friend codes for certain DS games. Unfortunetly I lost touch with all of them because friend codes are seperate per game. But it was a great opportunity to get to know other gamers , play games and while the weather wasn't the greatest it was still a pleasent and enjoyable experiance.

If the next Nintendo console gets a limited pre-order like Wii did. I will be camping out in a heart beat to get mine!
