If that's the Wii version on the left then no.

It really isn't.

I wish they'd used a different screen as reference.  I just watched the youtube video of the PS2, PC, and Gamecube versions and I could almost swear that there's a split second of motion blur at that precise moment.  If not, there is absolutely NO WAY any version of RE4 looked as blurry as that left screen!  It looks like the lense was rubbed with vaseline.  Even the youtube videos are clearer!!

I was thinking the same thing, I played this game from beginning to end 4 or 5 times (GC and Wii), I would have noticed if it was that blurry.

Guess Capcom needs to make us think it looked horrible to sell it to us (again).

Do you have the Wii version? You can boot it up in widescreen to check.

Ditto to you, TruckOSaurus.

I do and I will.  I'm a little rusty on my Japanese, though.  Does it say that pic is from the Wii version and not the PS2 version?  I mean, playing Metal Gear Solid 3 on my PS2 looks like crap on my HDTV but tossing that same disc into my PS3 (backwards compatible) and having the console bump it looks so much better......

Upscaling the PS2 version on your PS3 probably doesn't look anywhere close to that blurry. But the Wii version doesn't do that. THe game doesn't really run in 480p. It takes the image that the game normally displays, like on an SDTV, and just zooms in on it like using the Zoom function on your TV.

RE4 on Wii looks great on an SDTV, but do not run it in Widescreen.

Except this time.

I apologize ahead of time for making you cry.

My Wii is hooked to my SD TV which might explain me not seeing it so blurry. I don't think I'll go through the trouble of pluging it on my HD TV, I'll wait on d21lewis' report.

I'm telling you, it's like someone shoots you in the face with a shotgun loaded with pixels.

You'd think at this point I would be believed out of hand, but noooo

You may be waiting a while.  My Wii is (and alway was) hooked up to an HDTV (in fact, RE4 was the first Wii game I ever bought--right along with the console!!) but I don't get a day off from work until Monday.  In fact, I should be asleep right now.  I'll get back to ya, though.

*goes to sleep*

Guess playing Mafia with you has made me doubt your honesty.

Seriously, I do believe you but I'm not buying RE4 a third time just to see it in HD when it looks just fine in SD (on a SD screen).

I agree, mostly.

Wii version is the definitive version so long as it's on an SD screen.

But I'd like to play it in 720p - or 1080p, if possible - too.

They're both going to be released on XBLA and PSN later this fall. This is great because we now know that it probably wont be more than $15(1200MS points) each. I never got to play RE4 (owning only the original xbox), so this gives me a good chance to experience probably the best RE game to date.  RE5 didn't really cut it for me.
