Forums - PC - Firefox 4.0 is here people

I'm liking it, had a bit of problems with ads not being blocked with adblock but I solved it clearing the subscription list and redling it again. Of course first thing I did was bring back the menu bar and switch the address bar on top back again. Sad there isn't a FF4-compatible status bar calculator yet, and it's gonna take time to get accustomed to the new Noscript button position, but other than that, seems fast and looks good.

The thing I need to change is that the address bar is taking the aero theme and showing the desktop, I don't like that so I guess I have to change it somehow

Now for all the patches waiting in limbo for FF4 to drop. Meaning, its time for Minefield to go FF5pre!

...wat

browser development doesn't just stop because a new version is released. Firefox 5 is going to be released in a few months.  Includes a 64-bit version, JavaScript engine improvements, and more.

Mozilla wants Firefox 7 to be released by year end. They are taking a Google like rapid-release schedule. Of course, since this is Mozilla, only Firefox 6 will be released by year end. FF7 wont be till probably next February.

I see.

A question: is there no a 64 bit version of FF4?????! that's weird :S

Windows: 32-bit only

Linux: 32 & 64bit

Mac: 32 & 64bit

My brother is a 64 bit user and he installed it, should he expect any draw backs? bear with me a lil I am kindda a noob lol

If your meaning he is using a 64-bit OS, there is no drawback at all. It will work fine.

There is a 64-bit version of minefield, but its not 100% stable currently. Even I'm waiting at least a month or two more to make the switch.

stability and speed. a 64bit browser would be far superior then the 32bit version. (unless your talking IE, IE9 64bit sucks ass)

Aren't all the latest browsers fast? lol

I found out about chrome about a year ago and haven't switched back to anything else.  I love it, but with browser competition getting so close I'm convinced that it's not a good use of time to experiment with others just to find out they may or be only a little better or worse than what I've got already.

Am I alone on this?

No. I'm sticking with FF for the same reasoning. Plus, FF has better add-ons and my work won't allow Chrome due to security issues, which to me means I won't use it at home either.

I tried Beta 9, thought "This is just Chrome" and went back.

But this is growing on me now. I quite like it.

Hate that left click > new tab and new window have been switched round ><

Also when I double click on blank space in tab bar it'd bring up a new tba, now it just minimizes the browser.

Does anyone know why I can't get on gamrconnect with it? vgc loads fine...

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

I also got smacked with that switcheroo but when I click on the top bar, I hit the plus sign or drag up my bookmark...
