Forums - Sony Discussion - Behold the super inferior crysis 2 ps3 version!!!

IGN trying to be biased again.

Hmmm I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from what seem to be very messy shots personally, the better indicator will be the head to head video analysis in the next few days anyway.  It doesn't matter which is better if one version drops frames more frquently and suffers worse with texture pop in as I know which would look better when playing in that instance.

I don't get why PS3 is 720p only and 360 can go all the way to 1080p. Isn't PS3 meant to be capable of 1080p? Why can't Crytek deliver? Actually why can't most developers deliver, including some 1st parties?

Both consoles are capable of rendering at 1080p, and a lot of small and graphically simple games on the PSN and XBLA are doing so. None of the big AAA titles do though because they prefer to sacrifice resolution for graphical detail. Crysis is certainly not rendering at 1080p on any of the consoles. At best it will be 720p, but more likely something even smaller, which is then upscaled to 720p or 1080p.

they both look awful!

look at these clothes these people wearing! i would not want to be caught dead in those!

and these haircuts! what were they thinking?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

8.5 Graphics
Crysis 2 looks great on PS3, but a worse framerate, lower resolution, and missing effects compared to the 360 release hurt it. PS3 owners expect more.

9.5 Graphics
Crysis 2 on Xbox 360 has taken the crown for best graphics in a console game. It's well animated and the effects are great, but light is always the star of the show.

I guess we will have to wait for Digitafoundry to clear things up.

DF always read as being more credible than LoT. I dunno whether it's because they talk a lot of geek jargon I don't fully understand, so they are baffling me with bullshit, or whether they really do know their shit better than LoT. But yes, I will be interested to see what DF have to say.

A whole point difference in graphics score with IGN between PS3 and 360 versions is quite a lot. But 8.5 for graphics isn't terrible either. Is it the same reviewer or different?

Errr ...

so yeah better lighting and maintains FPS better.

but what I don't get is the bluriness of the lense of truth pictures... it's way to blurry on some of them while some of the other shots it looks just fine... (that and as far as I recall, PS3 games have always looked more blury to me than 360 games so I don't see how it'd go this way (not saying PS3 has to be blurry, but i just don't get how the 360 could be so blurry).

(actually if you look closely at some of the pics, the blurry parts are not in teh same position as in the PS3 pictures... so it's a picture in movement... are teh frames overlapping for the picture? dunno what software they use ^^, i'd bet that is their problem as hte blurriness does look like 2 slightly off superimposed images)
