Forums - Sony - BioShock chief tells Play why Infinite won’t support Move…

I have tried the Heavy Rain demo with the Move, it took me several tries to get the movements correct. They are extremely specific, you can't just wave the controller in the air and get it right.

I agree with Reasonable's comment, though still adding Move support would be good for the gamers that want it. They wouldn't be cheating gamers at all, this is an FPS game and people love to use a motion controller for FPS games. Although I probably wouldn't use the Move if they added support, but I do think it would fit the style.

Bravo sir.

why do you say stupid things like that.

just because it sony tech doesnt mean you have to praise someone, for not wanting to use it.

this guys reasoning is retarded, no one is forcing him to to make waggle controls. (there are buttons you know, tactile buttons).

the only thing including move controls would do is potentially increase sales for both move and this game because of the recongition it wotld get.

move is a great tech that should/can get incorporated into nearly every game, get over it

Hang on, why should this guy give a rats arse if MOVE is adopted?  Adding MOVE would NOT increase the games sales, it just wouldn't... and it would cost time and money for his company.

Dont be so defensive.

Most people in here agree with me...  including the Sony fans.

I'm not praising him for not wanting to use it, I am praising him for being his own boss.

it certainly wouldnt hurt, and it hurt at least one sale, i would have bought it if it had move.

move is very intuitive and can be very immersive, and theres no reason not to include it.

MAG, KIllzone, SOCOM, and several more game by the time this game is released have set the frame work for how to have great move implementation. so it would take much time or resources to put in move. the groundwork is already set, he would just pretty much have to copy them. and trust me, sony would want to help him out, if he was implementing move.

for the last part, sure u were. but still of course hes being his own boss, who would, but at the end of the day he still works for take two, so really its up to them. they could still force him

For someone who has hated dual analoge since 2003 this is sad news

1. So you wont buy a FPS if it doesnt support MOVE from now on?  wow.

2. Moneyhatting !?  OMG.. whatever next?  I actually dont think Sony care that much about MOVE tbh.

2. No... I wasnt... please dont call me a liar.

no, i just had some interest in this title, just not much, and move support would've pushed me over the edge, and given me a reason to get this, over the many more fps i want

i dont get what you are saying here, whos moneyhatin, i just said that sony would give them support in move, they have made a statement saying they would do this.

i didnt mean to call you a liar, just that i have my doubts about you intentions.because its not something noble for this guy to say i dont like move support, and at the end of the day the decision is up to take two

For what?

Not you, him.

For not playing the game. He is right.  He doesn't see any point in adding something that doesn't add anything to the gaming experience.  He wouldn't benefit (indeed it would cost in time and resource), the VAST majority of players wont benefit or care and only the Sony marketing people will want him to do this.

So why bother.

I agree with Reasonables comments above.

Is that what he was saying? "Adding Move adds nothing to first person gaming experience"?

I took it more as : "I see no point in adding it if it was not originally part of the development plan".

I ask this because Move, if planned right and built from the ground up can and does add to the experience. It all depends on the player.

Also it shouldn't matter what the vast majority wants, if that were the case then we would get the same games over and over again. The smaller crowds matter too.

Don't leave us out.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

no, he is sayingexactly  that he doesnt think it adds anythig to the Bioshock experience...  not FPS in general.

he certainly isnt saying what you thought he was saying, I have no idea where you got that from.

I obviously read it wrong, my apologies.

i wonder why most developers are not making their multi-platform title better on PS3 ver. but the Xbox360 ver. since the PS3 ver. have the ability to... feel sad for sony that all these developers are ditching its potential... 8(

Too bad. It might have been interesting to have some sorcery like controls in Bioshock. The powers from bioshock aren't far of from casting spells. But I guess they have a schedule to keep and to get it working on both a kinect hybrid and move without it feeling tacked on probably doesn't fit in with the deadline.

Bioshock was enough as a standalone title anyway. Another one? really.

im sure they could add on simple move controls, the more move compatible games the better.
