Dogs hate cats.  Dolphins hate Monkeys (didn't know that, did you?).  Turtles hate Pandas.  IGN hates Nintendo.  Some things just are.  You don't ask why.

I didn't know that turtles hated pandas either.

Wow.  My mind is blown.

I don't think that they hate Nintendo, but most of their writers are in the age group where they thought that the PS1 was the best thing ever and that the N64 was lame.  Know what I'm saying?

Does anyone really think that?  I thought the PS1 was amazing and that the N64, while amazing, was way too expensive for me so I opted to buy a PS1 and had amazing fun with it.  I went to other people's houses and played some multi-player N64 games from time to time and had a great time.

Actually I knew a lot of people that felt exactly like that at the time.  Most of the "cool kids"didn't like the N64 at all because it had cartoonish and kiddie games.

I'm ashamed for everyone who came into this thread agreeing with the OP. Your all silly people and your attatchment to Nintendo is both funny and awkward at dinner parties. Please take off your tin foil hats and maybe try and break out of the state of mind that everything thats said about Nintendo is  bad and that none of the other HD consoles ever get any criticism. You'd think people would remember all those negative PS3 articles that were being released on a weekly basis prior to 2010 or the amount of negativity the Western media continous to throw on to the PSP. They don't hate Nintendo, they just have news to write, opinions to give and reviews to roll out.

If anyone on here actually listened to podcasts, then they'd realise that most of the people at IGN and their subsidary, Gamespy, have an undying love for anything related to Nintendo. I actually stopped listening during the second half of 2010 because they wouldn't shut up about Kirby, Metroid, Donkey Kong and some other Wii games.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Lulz and which podcast was that?  It sure isn't game scoop, podcast beyond, or podcast unlocked.

And just about every western game media outlet had the PSP as the better device and set to take the handheld throne at launch, they truly couldn't wrap their heads around the DS until later, only a few were there from the start like IGNs own Matt, Mark, and Craig, whom I might add have all left IGN within a year of each other.

And the PS3 praise started before 2010 the "bashing" was usually over load times, price, inferior versions of multiplats, and lack of games in general.  That trend quickly stopped when the PS3 price went down, they improved the controller, started having installs, and Sony kept lowering the license fee when they saw that the PS3 wasn't going to be like the PS2 and they needed incentives for third parties to come develop for them.

Basically here's the jist doobie, IGN "bashes" the PS3 because the system didn't have many exclusive titles and it has long load times, IGN bashes Nintendo when they dock points on the 3DS because of the eventual redesign that doesn't exist yet and then writes multiple editorials about Nintendo being lazy, NSMB Wii was inferior to an XBLA game, Nintendo overuses Mario, Daemon Hatfield goes on Game Scoop and flat out sounds like an ignorant cuss talking about the Wii, etc.  I really never saw articles from sources like IGN go "Sony didn't have a great launch lineup, they're lazy", "Little Big Planet doesn't have as good platforming as Mario", "Sony over uses characters like Ratchet and Clank", it just didn't happen.

I was mainly referring to Ryan Scott and his crew, they praise Nintendo all the time and they pretty much only talked about the Nintendo releases of late last year. Greg Miller, Ryan Clements, Colin Moriaty and Jessica Chobot have also been very positive of the things Nintendo have done.

The PS3 was bashed because it had some serious faults. The Wii is being bashed for very similar reasons. The difference though, is that one company made an attempt to fix all the issues their console had, while the other company  pretty much just ignored every criticism. The reason why the Wii continous to be bashed is because it's online infastracture is horrendous, the amount of shovelware flooding the system is ridiculous, the gaps between quality software releases is just sad and Third Party support has been pretty much dead on the system for the last two years.

The 3DS got a very similar score to the handhelds of the past and expecting any special treatment is just silly, the reviewer felt that Nintendos history has shown that they revise their systems frequently and with such a bad battery life on the 3DS, a redesign may be a better choice for their readers. Hell, they even mention that the original PSP was faulty in certain aspects (they counted as negatives) and so they hoped that the issues would be fixed in a future update.

Sony were called out many times between 2006 and 2009. The line 'This is the game that finally makes the PS3 worth it' was used in so many IGN PS3 exclusive reviews, that it just became annoying. They barely ever acknowledged the PS3 in their early podcasts and if they mentioned it, then it was just negative or they were just disinterested. Arthur Gies and Anthony Gallegos actually go out of their way to shit all over the PS3 or Sony when ever they can and they never get called out for it.

When Nintendo makes games that IGN likes and wants, then they reward those games with positive press and good reviews. That's how most enthusiast press sites work. It just happens to be that Microsoft and Sony give them far more reasons to post positive press and good reviews and your equating that to them having some sort of negative stance on Nintendo.

If you reply back, then I'm sorry if I won't be able to return a reply straight away. It's bed time and I've got a class in the morning, so I'll probably be offline for a while.

@doobie wop  your the only person who hits the nail on the head.  THe fact is that one company had alot of faults and went about fixing them the other company had little but has made no effort to fix it. So why would they not get called out for that??? My question is that why does the Ninty fan NOT call out some of the obvious faults?? Are they so in love with Ninty that they accept anything that they throw at them.

Let me get this straight, there are people on IGN biased against the PS3, go out of their way to bash it, hell in another thread you were complaining about one of the guys rating Crysis II on PS3 and 360... yet it's wrong for other users to point out a lot of BS that goes around with IGN and their opinions on Nintendo products, and people need to "take off their tin foil hats"?

I find it funny how you didn't address any of the points I made about what IGN has written just pulled the "oh look Wii has bad online!" card which I didn't even mention, sadly there really hasn't been editorials about Nintendos online, as it would be a legit complaint and something they are obviously addressing.

Also I wonder if you even read/watched some of the things said about the 3DS like the lack of fact checking done, it's piss poor journalism, 30 years ago the lack of fact checking would make these guys a laughing stock and likely not have a career doing anything but obituaries.

IGN hates Sony too. It hates anything that gets in the way of MS world domination.
