Forums - Sony - Is Lair for the PS3, that bad of a game?

Currently, there's nothing on the system that interests me enough to purchase that I don't already own on 360.

The reason I bought it when I did was because I wanted full BC, the 60GB was being cleared out, and I got a fantastic deal. After watching the trailers of White Knight Story over and over and over... and over... I figured I would probably be getting a PS3 eventually, so the full BC and the hot deal seemed like a good opportunity.

Plus, I have about a dozen Blu-ray movies now as well.

Understandable....

Edit: You do realize that the 80GB is gradually getting close to 100% BC for PS2 games? So you wouldn't be out of luck if you wanted a PS3, because the 80GB is avaliable.

Yeah, I took a look at the compatibility list for a bunch of titles; some of the games I was most interested in using it to play had issues (particularly MGS3), so I decided to go with the 60GB. Now that Sony has touted their "we aren't spending another penny on BC" strategy (though that may of course change), I'm glad that I did.

I bought it for $59.99 it was an ok game never beat it though.

 2008 end of year predictions:

PS3: 22M

360: 25M

wii: 40M

You will review it for yourself?

Play at least half of the game first then, don't let the first level trick you.

So many other good games...

I know that Flow....but there are some many games. I just can not single out a PS3 exclusive, just because reviewers or someone else said this game sucks balls. I'm going to play it and if its bad, its bad then. Its my fault I bought the game for $40.

You could always just rent it first...

Correct, I could always rent....

Gamestop does this 7-day return/exchange program, where when you purchase a used game. You can play it for about 7 days or less and exchange it for another.

So I'm thinking about finding a used Lair at Gamestop/EBGames and purchase it. Then that way if I like it I will keep it, if I don't, I will exchange it for another game.

You can exchange it at the same value? That sounds like a fine idea then, for sure.

Correct...

For example:

WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2008 is $45

Okay, I played the game for about 3 days. As it turns out the game is lame. So I go to Gamestop/EBGames and say to the employee at Gamestop: "Dude, this game was lame, the controls were horrible and I will like to either get my money back on a EBGames Giftcard or exchange it for another game at the same price". The employee responds "Okay well all I will do is say on the recipet "Did not like game" and you can go search for another game".

Thats how simple and easy it is. Its sort of like renting but a better way through Gamestop/EBGames because of better game selection than Blockbuster and other renting places.
