Forums - Sony - Is Lair for the PS3, that bad of a game?

The game looks absolutely gorgeous!

I'm currently checking out gameplay videos on Youtube and Gametrailers and it looks awesome. Its just that the controls are flawed as many comments on both sites posted.

Does anyone on this site actually own the game or has played the game?

Don't get me started on this game. The steering controls were adequate but the screen tearing, the idiotic "begin worthless mini-game on accident" every few minutes, and the diving and 180 degree turn controls were infuriating.

Graphically, aside from glitching too much, it's quite impressive at points but under no circumstances can I recommend purchasing this game for more than $10.

All I really want to know is it worth my time playing the game?

Not until you've gone through Uncharted, R&C, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Heavenly Sword, and a handful of other PS3 games.

Lair should be near the bottom of your play list (if there at all).

Alright, just making sure...The graphics for the game look awesome and when I was watching gameplay videos on Youtube, the person who was playing Lair, looks good controlling it...

If you play it on a psp its not too bad.

Some parts of the game were fun but overall it wasn't that great.  Not enough to warrant a purchase to me anyway.

Yes, the graphics are awesome, but the game is horrid. Avoid it.

agreed, the controls are simply broken, theres lots of glitches and the story seemed half baked.

But i can't rag on it too much after all the development team was "haunted"-linky:http://ps3.ign.com/articles/818/818294p1.html

I had almost no complaint about the controls. I only have two, one that if you don't like shaking your controling up and down like you were having a seizure, you do that in this game a lot, and two, one of the moves has a 50/50 shot of doing the wrong move. (I said 80% chance of working in my review)

I had hundreds of complaints about design, story, gameplay etc. I think the main game is actually fairly fun, until the hundreds of issues bog it down. However, the first level? Awesome, because it hardly contains any of those complaints.

So, if you get a chance to own a free copy somehow, play the first level, then sell it at a tidy profit. I cannot fathom how the game cost 25 million dollars and has all these issues.
