Forums - Sales - could wii be 10m infront of the PS3 by next week?

Looking at the hardware figures for this week the Wii was 740K in front of the PS3.

Last week the Wii sold almost 194k more worldwide than the PS3.

So going by what ioi mention with the 600k+ in America this week is it possible that the wii could be 10m infront of the ps3?


Im not to good with sales and figures so I could be very wrong :p what do you guys think?


Thinking about it more got me realising its a bloody long shoot becuase if the ps3 sold 500k this week the wii would have to sell and incredible 1200k

I think i just answered my own question and i need to be shot :p

actually the Wii could very Easily sell around 1.4 million, I predicted 1.65 in an earlier thread.

i think it will, isn't Nintendo giving out "rain checks"? will that factor into sales?

possibly. Actually its got a pretty good shot. More than most would give it credit. PS3 will most likely sell around 600k worldwide for the next week, as next week is the biggest week this year for sales. so then Wii would need to sell about 1.4 million which is plausible. 900k in America, 400k in Europe/Other, and 200k in Japan. So it's quite plausible. Just have to see how it goes.

Um.. it is already 9.22mil ahead of ps3, as the OP said, the wii only needs to move 780k more than that of the ps3 this week.. 9mil or over is definite, not just 'more likely' (ps3 would need to outsell wii by more than 220k WW for that not to happen)

If PS3 sells, lets say, 600k this week (which i think is an optimistic maximum), the wii will need 1.38mil or more to accomplish it ... it is feasable
