I just found out Rayman 3D is actually Rayman 2 and is based on the Dreamcast version.

I never played Rayman 2 before, but it is apparently a classic and seems to be considered a very good adventure platformer game.

Has any of you guys played Rayman 2?...how is it?....I really enjoy games like Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, etc...will I feel right at home with the game?

I was only considering Pilotwings (and maybe Steel Diver as well) to go along with the 3DS I´ll be getting, but Rayman 3D is getting interesting.

It's hard to say since It's been 10 years since I've played it but I loved it then great platforming experince. Sadly I won't be picking this up right away since the lack of info is scaring me a bit...

WAIT what??? i thought that Rayman for 3DS was an original game. God damn it UBI not another port.

@OP If you have PS3 or PSP you can download the game for $6 dollars to see if you like it or not. I warn you that the PS1 version is supposed to be the worst, but from what i played its decent. if you like 3d platformers you should like this

I played the PC version again last month which was based on the Dreamcasts version as well just with better textures. Even today I find it a great game. Actually it is my favorite platformer.

To be fair, it's a remake. Remake is a much higher quality than a port.

Ubi probably just trying to revive Rayman platforming where the Rabbids sorta killed off Rayman.

My parents got annoyed that I was buying a 3DS but no games for it (in case it's out of stock for a long time, and I know the price won't fall for some time), so they just suddenly decided to buy this game.

Should I persuade them to return it and get Ridge Racer or something? I hate the whole launch lineup, as you can see from my game list I only like Nintendo games, Portal and Starcraft.

I rank Rayman 2: The Great Escape as one of the greatest platformers of all time.   While it's not Mario 64 or Banjo-Kazooie, how many games are?
