Forums - Gaming Discussion - who buys game strategies anymore

Hmm for some games I'd like them (altrough more as collectors gadget) but the price is rediculus for most of them.

Especially the steam ones - if they are purely virtual they should cost something like 2-3 euro (then most people would probably get them as impulse buy)

They are often useful for the printed maps, and in games with a lot of items to collect (e.g. Metroid Prime), having this labelled on maps and in a well formatted checklist is very helpful.

I agree they are very overpriced compared to free. Some of the internet guide writers put more effort in than the actual publishers.

Not me, but my brother and one of my best mates do.

I buy them all the time,I'm to lazy to go online. I like to look at the guide, while I'm playing the game. For FPS,there pretty pointless, but for RPG'S and such, they work wonder's.

There's strategy in modern games? I can see the value as a collecters item, but they're pretty pointless otherwise. The last time I used a strategy guide was for simcity 1, it was called a manual back then.

I miss the days of buying a big box for a game that included a cloth map, color manual, reference sheets and other extras all for the normal price. Nowadays you're lucky if they include a jewel case for the cd with a pc game :(

Who ever bought them in the first place?

i lol at some guides like one for call of duty, what strategy is there. The game holds your hand for the duration showing off some specticals before you lose interest 4 hours in.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
