I saw a video of the psn demo and it looks really damn awesome and intense.....but is it worth buying? Why did it score so low overall on Metacritic? I know some of you must be cringing after reading that line but if the game really is fun, I won't let that get in the way. Is it at 77-78 because it's worse than the original or is it one of those things where reviewers complain because it wasn't what they wanted/expected?

I gave the review summaries a quick look but none of them are really specific about certain things. A few of them mentioned that the driving isn't "fun"..........O_o???

I think I probably should've bought M$: Pacific Rift - I played through the demo a couple of times and liked it abit. I would've thought GT5 would be my main racer for a long while but, it really fails to capture that intensity and thrill of going 100+mph...it feels abit too calm. Motorstorm though.....IT'S IN MY FACE! It's all the small effects like the shaky camera and motion blur that help give that thrilling sense of speed.

Anyways, I won't be buying the game at full price either way (trying to cut back on game-spending) but I think this will be a for sure buy down the road. For those that played it already, what do you guys think? I actually got a demo code in my email from Gamestop (GS actually did somethin useful?) but it doesn't work since the demo was removed on all stores (Japan related).

You to know the game was suspended from release right? It will have its release date rescheduled (US release might still be April but thats TBD)

I would go with pacific rift first , I liked it more than the original.  Unless no other games interests you that have come out right now you might as well buy it.

on that, i really enjoyed the original, almost made me buy a ps3 originally. Do you know that if they are still making it? Or is psn the best way. There is a few series that I have found amazing about the ps3.

You mean are they still making the original new because wouldn't there still be used copies no matter what in stores? I mean in the US it might still be sold as a greatest hit, but I cannot remember seeing it new recently.

Well my pre-order was cancelled because of the delay in the UK, but I will be ordering it when it is released here as the demo is great and MS games have always been great

I will buy online before I buy used tbh, I dont like even buying games if they dont have fancy wrappers... Dunno, I think I have a mild case of... that thing. On tv volume if its not divisible by 5 i freak out hahaha.

Used games are fairly easy to find in Australia, its just I dont like em. We have EB in aus for example.
