at one point ioi said there will be a vgc app released so i'd assume they are already working on it.
vgc seems to load much faster on ie9 then it does on google chrome. All other websites I go on load nearly instantly on both browsers.
Thanks for the heads up, I just DLed it :)
So far I like it cuz it's new but I'm not that impressed - IE8 felt like a bigger step up from IE7/6
Also, it kind of slowed my mouse/PC down when I had too maby tabs open, nothing like that happened in IE8 - - - - The icon is HORRIBLE imo!!!
I don't know why I love IE so much roflrofl but I do <3
Also, I just noticed there's something wrong with the reply text editor - no mouse functionality (it works if you right-click where you want though)
Tried it, does the same as chrome basically. Except the loss of extension (add-ons). Might as well stick to chrome. But atleast its usable unlike IE8.

really?
IE 7 and 8 both seem very similar to me. I sure hope you don't go back to using IE8, just give IE9 some time please.
and please don't mention IE6, the fact we still have to live with it is annoying enough.
------
I think if you want a quick and user friendly browser Chrome and Safari are probably the best choices. IE9 (at least the beta, I haven't DLed the full release yet) seems to be similar to those two... the only thing I have noticed is an odd bug with rounded corners on a border that is animated, and it seems to do something with fonts in general that to me make them a bit harder to read... but using a tool to rotate fonts 90 degrees they look really ugly in IE9 beta. Maybe those two things will have been fixed in the release i'm not sure.
I tend to use Firefox mostly, I generally have fewer problems with it than the others.... only thing is newer versions of FF seem to be getting worse than their predecesors rather than better, it seems to use quite a lot of memory and often takes a while to open (though is quick enough when running)
I also use Opera on occasion, mostly because it seems to conform to standards more than others... I can generally trust Opera to display things as they should be.

After trying it definatley a big step up for MS, theyve basically copied chrome which is the best thing they could of done, but still not gonna tempt me back.
Chromes Sync functionality is just to good, whatever pc i use i can just login and it restores all my favourites, if i add a new favourite link at work its there as soon as i boot my pc when i get home.
@TQRoO: You're right, I was thinking of IE7 being >>>> IE6 - The one that introduced TABs i think
I've been using IE9 for a few hours now - heavy browsing with lots of videos/gifs & many tabs (the norm for me) - It hasn't exactly been problem free, I've experienced hang ups and sometimes unresponsiveness while browsing, but nothing I haven't seen before
Here on VGChartz, however, I couldn't even manage quote your post just now
On the other hand, it seems to load pages faster and (when not being overstressed) runs much smoother than before - I also like how the menu system looks more like chrome (less top/bottom space wasted - I have a wide-screen), but for some reason chrome "feels" better - The all clear menu area doesn't feel good to me
And who else thinks the new icon looks horrible? - come to think of it, the whole graphics/design side of the browser looks cheap, not pretty at all

IE9 is the first out to focus on the next wave of internet technologies and that set of tools probably just isn't kosher with what is being used here in VGC. This maybe why ioi and team are busy building/testing the next version of the site. At least I hope it is so that I can access the full site from my mobile devices too. |
no... lol, chrome gets updates almost daily, sometimes twice a day, at least twice a week. ff also has weekly updates available (you can probably even find daily updates from some places). micrsoft is the one who is always behind lol.
thats not how that works, there are no specific set of coding tools, there is code and what makes a platform good is being able to run lots of different code, old and new, efficiently. ie9 cant run things that other browsers can so its not as up to date as the other browsers
