thats true....sony's adverts are aimed at gamers who are going to buy the game anyway....microsoft aim to convert non-gamers to buy their hardware and software.

even if you look at sony's best attempt at marketing, kevin butler, a non-gamer wouldnt know what the hell hes going on about.

yes and when GT5 is just as old and just as cheap, it will sell better than what halo reach is doing now.

the thing to consider is when new fps's come out people will be less likely to buy halo reach than they will gran turismo when a new racing game comes out. GT has better legs (or wheels?) imo.

you can get halo reach for £18 in the UK while GT5 minimum price is £30.

There's no way xbox or gamecube could have made similar arguments because of the bolded "comparable userbase". Difference of 2.8 million - 4 million is not going to affect software sales that much.

And PS3 does have big franchises as Halo, GT 5 and prologue both have sold relatively well. MGS4, God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 have also sold well, around 4 million that is awesome considering its been like a year since GoW and 1 1/2 since Uncharted 2?

Apart from Gears and Halo 360 doesn't sell that many exclusives either, they are usually bundled like forza 2 and 3. Kinect sports did sell well though.

Head start is one reason why 360 has more overall software sales and in turn more exclusive sales. By the time this gen ends I am sure Sony will have more comparable exclusive game sales.

No one's making excuses, just stating facts.

None of those games you mention has sold anywhere near what Halo 3 has sold, let alone Reach. Untill ps3 gets a 10 million seller it has no franchise as big as Halo.

GT5 has been out for less than 4 months and your comparing it to Halo 3!

At the end of the day GT5 will outsell Reach mark my words. I gurantee you by the end of the year GT5 will sell at least 2-2.5 million!

Halo series is known for legs as well. Halo 3 for example sold better than every Gran Turismo except GT3. I don't know how heavily GT3 was bundled either.

I don't see why Halo Reach's UK price is relevant. You know NA is where the series sells best.

WTF is this?

Just cause MS decides to publish a game on PC a year later it no longer counts as a 360 exclusive that it was for over a year? I understand games which had same time launch on both platforms like L4D and Splinter cell not being included... But games which get ported and published a year later to PC by Microsoft themselves should be on this list.

Also, would be cool to see Wii as well. The sea of Nintendo lol...

guys if you are comparing two parties against each other then they are the only ones that count, so Kowenickis list is in fact correct. None of those games are on PS3
