Forums - Sales - Will DA2 sales be affected by controversy?

Definitely on PC, console I don't know as most of those cases do not apply to the console gamer. FW won't be affected for sure, if the game is rubbish then it'll like have bad word of mouth and hamper the legs.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Could be, I know that I myself was planing on buying it but have scrapped that plan now after trying it, reading about it in previews and realizing just how far Bioware are sinking. There are bound to be others like me who feel that the first one was pretty cool, especially on PC and that they basically ruined it by making everything overly simple (like they did with Mass Effect 2).

Sales should get affected. That way, they may finally fuc*in realise that what gamers want are quality RPGs from them.

not sure why that is considered a contraversy, to me it more looks like just being a worse game

when i played dragon age origins i liked the game and was pumped for heraing about 2.  but as time passed since i finished dragon age origins i started to realize how bad that game was from much better rpg's out there and started to lose interest in Dragon age 2.

now hearing and seeing all they did to my  beloved pc rpg and butchered it to be a hack and slash console game i have no desire to buy it.  i'll just wait for my diablo 3 and the witcher 2.  Besides have pokemon white to fulfill my rpg needs for quite some time.

PC sales will definitely be affected by it, but I don't think the 360 or PS3 will suffer too much because of this.

Console sales should be better than DAO imo, PC sales will probably be affected and most likely end up worse than DAO which had pretty good sales for a PC game, if i am not mistaken. I think this got more to do with that PC gamers are angry that we don't get the superior version this time and that it feels like a console port (although its not one), than the controversy though.

Some of the complains are baised though like; its easier and dumbed down. DAO was a relative auto pilot game to begin with this is just more of it. And nightmare is much harder than it was in the last game. Also some boss encounters you actually have to think. In DAO those encounters where only in Awakening and in that expansion your character was so level up, that the game was already easy anyway.

PC sales, definitely. Console sales, not so much.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

the game will sell well regardless--it appeals to a much wider audience than the original and it's obviously better known since the first one.

It needed more time in development for sure but I am very happy with purchasing the game. It's is insatiably fun.

I hope so becase it sux and if sales dont falter the devs would think the "new direction" was a good thing.
