To other people,
Uncharted already sold over 400k, and that game is not even selling 1 month WW. Uncharted alone will reach 2 mln. by the end of 2008.
MGS4 is MORE hyped game, will sell EASY over 2 mln.

Those who think, that PS3 will sell LESS(17 mln. total or just 8 mln.) then in 1st year(around 9 mln.) WITH LBP, KZ2, MGS4, GTA4, GT5, FFXIII and other GREAT games are just IDIOTS.

Isn't that what you have been saying all the time but still are wrong?

No GT5 in 2008? I don' think so. I think it'll be released in 2008. But probably not FF XIII.


I would be surprised if any country other than Japan saw GT5 in 2008. Polyphony isn't exactly reknown for keeping to a schedule and with all the updated features just announced (weather, damage, etc.), I think the game will see delays that push it into 2009.

I could be wrong but given Yamauchi's OCD nature, a delay is inevitable in my eyes.

Wii= 20 million (No Zelda, No SM, No Metroid) SS:BB and Mario Kart will make up for these sales, that's why it will be the same. Wii fit won't sell as much hardware as some people expect, but it will sell units.

The Wii won't get as much hype in the media as it did throughout this year


Yeah it'll probably get more sales and media hype then in 2007

And we all know how much it hurt Sony to do that; theres NO way they can finance 3 more price drops. Id say one would be a stretch.


Which is why MS should be super aggressive with the cuts, drop 360 down to like $200

 Then why you think that Wii is going to sell less on its second year with games like Brawl/Kart/WiiFit/Disaster/Animal Crossing/WiiMusic, and increased production?

So anyway, my predictions:

Wii - 42 mil
PS3 - 21 mil
360 - 30 mil

1. KH3 will be announced as a Wii exclusive, possible trailer shown but maybe just a teaser.
2. DMC4 360 version will outsell DMC4 PS3 version if Japan DMC4 sales aren't high enough.
3. Mega Man Wii game announced (possibly that Mega Man Scramble Battle).
4. A SF for Wii will be announced, but not SF4.
5. Versus XIII and FF XIII onslaught of info coming.
6. KH: 358/2 Days will outsell both Coded and BBS first week.
7. ToS: KoR hailed as one of the best Wii games.
8. More Wii RPGs coming.
9. Media.Vision's Wii RPG announced and info + trailer(s) given.
10. MH3 onslaught of info coming. Possible Japan release.
11. Level 5 announced Wii game.
12. Zack and Wiki 2 announced for Wii (of course).
13. SE announces not much FFCC: TCB info shown because it's one of SE's biggest games, second to FF XIII and possibly/probably Versus).

1. I sincerely hope not, I loved KH, they better bring it to the PS3. Makes sense, it was an established PS2 franchise.

2. DMC japan numbers will obviously favour the PS3, but so will Europe's numbers so even if Japans numbers arent that high I cant see NA saving the 360 that much.

(1)Yeah man, I also think kingdom Hearts will become Wii exclusive. I can definitely see it coming.

(3)That poll on Capcom's japanese site really was awfully suspicious, plus Wii won with a great majority.

(5)I think FFXIII's battle system will be demo'ed at one of the grand conventions next year, much like FFX did once at E3 years back.

(8)I see it being possible. But since the latest JRPGs failed on the Wii, Im not too sure that it will get flooded. But hopefully theres a Mother games coming to the Wii, that would be awesome.

 

I would like to add that I also believe that Sony has learned a valueble lesson from 2007, and in 2008 we will be flooded with 3rd party exclusives that Sony has negotiated their way to. They will consist of a good portion of new IPs but however I believe there will be a few sequels aswell.

I also think the "rumoured" Capcom PS3 exclusive is either:

An Onimusha sequel

or...

A Dino Crisis Sequel

I have a feeling Kaz has been often at the Capcom offices to discuss a compensation for Devil may cry 4. And I think he knows that the PS fanbase desires a big compensation for it. Either way, Kaz would be very smart to secure either DC4 or an O-sequel. A new IP would be nice too.

Lastly, I believe the Rockstar PS3 exclusive is Red Dead Revovler 2, and it will be either unveiled during the period of GDC or E3.

That depends on the quality of the finished product and how well reviewers will welcome it.

Admitedly it looks extremely good, but everyone is staying cautiously optimistic since the last chapter was a mess.

But if Guerrilla actually does succeed, it might become established as one of the biggest franchises of newer times.

I think Killzone 2 average may end up on a scale from 8,8~9,6(-,7). I hope that they have really learned their lesson, and gotten more experience to make this an outstanding shooter.

I looked up sales of killzone before making this prediction and saw that killzone sold 750k LTD, so even though it's not a new IP it doesn't exactly have a strong fanbase to draw from.  Add the fact that the ps3 has a much smaller userbase (relative to the ps2 where killzone was released) and that the ps3 sells the worst in territories that shooters sells best, i just don't think it's going to sell great.   killzone2 might have a ton of internet fame but that rarely spills over into the masses.  it didn't work for zack and wiki last year and i don't think it will work for no more heros or killzone2 next year.

I dont think youre seeing it from the right angle. You see... Killzone 2 itself is a seller, the name itself is the seller. Reason being the huge amount of controversy it has gathered. Meaning it has alot of attention from gamers. That kind of controversy is priceless. Its like free advertising.

Now thats, not the point where it starts selling, it won't begin untill KZ2 proves itself. If it does get straight A's on the fly, then the gamers will want to play it. Some will play because it got classified as a fantastic game, others will try to convince themselves that the game is still crap and buy/rent it to prove it to themselves.

Regardless of who buys it, the amounts of which it will be sold will be much more important.

Neither Zack & Wiki nor No More Heros had/has that kind of amount of controversy that KZ2 has stolen in the gaming community.
