Forums - Gaming - Portal 2 on the PS3 is "The One To Get" for Cross Platform Co-Op

As a future buyer for the PS3 version, does my Steam email account and PS3 email account need to be the same in order to play my PC version that'll come free with the PS3 version?  Cause i made my Steam account way back and has a different email than my PS3

Nope, you just need to link the 2 account together.

My brother has  PC that should be able to run this game, and I have  PC that can't, but I do have a PS3. I've been bitching at my brother for ages to get a PS3 so we can do more Co-op. Now we can do Portal 2 co-op. There was no way I was going to get Portal 2 until I realised I'd be able to play cross platform co-op with my brother. Now a purchase is likely, or rather 2 purchases are likely. Though not quite sure when.

When you get the game on PS3 you are also getting the steam version, so you don't have to buy it twice.

What do you mean by linking the 2 accounts together?

When portal 2 is release later on in the year, it will come with the PS3 version of steam on the disk, you can log on with your standard steam account from your PSN. There will also be an ability on the PS3 steam to associate your PSN account to steam, once this is done you will be able to download this game for the PC on steam too.

Right, so I gotta link my PSN with my brother's Steam account to do that?

Fairly certain you cannot do this, co-op can only played when logged into both steam and psn and since the accounts are linked you cannot buy 1 copy and play on the same account, please correct me if I'm wrong someone!

Sounded a bit too good to be true.

I know! This sound more like 10 years back where blizzard use to allow you to clone your games, dlc were known as unlockable, are already on the disk and are free. =)

I'm getting the PC version of this game. Which is exactly why I'm getting the PS3 version of this game

...!
