Yes a psychological exam would probably be good. And the suggestion of anger management classes might be good too. However 2 years in jail or Juvi. Thats over kill in my books. What about the boys who burn ants with their magnifying glass? I never did it but I know several kids who did. Thats unecessary and cruel, but they don't deserve to go to jail. They could probably use a good talking to by a psychologist or their parents.
I think choking an animal out of rage like that is wrong. But how many of you kicked in walls, doors and smashed other valuables in a fit or rage when you were younger? The kid was probably not thinking that she was hurting an animal she was just thinking of how to punish the person she was fighting with.
I;m not sure that would even qualify as being disturbed psychologically. But a nice visit to a psychologist or psychiatrist can't do any harm, maybe she has a mental disability that needs treatment. Maybe she's just a violent little girl who needs to be taught not to harm animals or destroy other peoples property.
I don't think their would be any harm in a psychological assesment or anger management. But jail and wasting tax dollars on court. Thats just plain stupid to me!

Fact of the matter is I think this should have been handled by the parent's, punishment should have been swift maybe a grounding for a few months to a year. But what a waste of tax dollars and time of court officials etc...etc... Can you honestly tell me you have never killed a single living creature that did nothing to you? What about that innocent fly that entered your house? Or that innocent mouse? Or farmers what about those innocent crows that just want to eat some berries? I'm sure if your honest with yourself you are guilty of killing an innocent animal out of anger, fear or just for the fun of it! |

The ideea is that this girl is psychotic, and a danger to society. She's no different than that crazy woman from Fatal Attraction. Better lock her up now before she goes after her brother with a knife.

In my opinion, she should be examined by a psychologist and work from there. Spending 2 years in jail would solve nothing.

Based on what? That she choked a hamster? LOL!
I'm a huge animal friend and vegetarian but let's be realistic here. Killing an animal is still not a big deal in our society.

This is the most likely escenario. The actual punishment will come from the parents.
