lol what horrible horrible numbers for the Wii...for the market leader that's very bad performance. another ps3>wii comfortably

PSP is going strong :D 3DS hasn't harmed psp much at all it seems. Nice bump in HW thanks to the new bundle and good sw numbers.

3DS hw = good, Layton sales = great makes me very happy....everything else = meh imo

I think that NIS should have released Disgaea 4 on PSP now that the system looks unstoppable and after the not so encouraging Disgaea 3 sales, Disgaea PSP ports sold 100k units.

On top of it PS3 games always have very crappy legs, an 84% drop is abysmal.

Makai Senki Disgaea Portable: Tsuushin Taisen Hajimemashita --- 16,517 / 107,169

Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days --- 36,491 / 101,688

The Disgaea franchise is bigger in Americas than in Japan so I don't see the point of releasing it on the PSP.

It would have done better in Japan but horribly everywhere else.

The same could have been said about Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 and yet Sega released them on PSP after the first game sold 500k units WW on PS3. Well now that I think this case is invalid and very bizarre since Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 didn't outsell their predecessor even in Japan 0-o

Yeah, I kinda think D4 would've done better as a PSP game.  Hell, they should've ported D3 to PSP right away too after it underperformed on PS3.

Then again, pretty much all the NIS PSP games the last 2 years (Prinny 1-2, Cladun, ZHP, Criminal Girls, Blue Roses, Phantom Brave, La Pucelle, Antiphona, Disgaea Infinite, etc) bombed or badly underperformed in Japan, so who knows if it would've made that much difference?

People tend to put NIS and Marvelous in the same category, but Marvelous has had a LOT more success as of late (although they've still had plenty of their own bombs too still).

Even thought the PSP is doing great in Japan and is a terrific handheld, I see Nintendo always being the King of Handhelds for a VERY long time.

I blame Pokemon.

I'll admit I'm not a Pokemon fan, but more power to its fans.

I love Pokemon. More power to me.

Ha!  So your flamebaiting plan failed.  You thought I'd say something bad about Pokemon.  But I DIDN'T!!

also correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that digimon number disappointing? If I remember correctly the last one did around 80k FW didn't it? looks like this one tanked

In Valkyria's case, I think it's more about lowering development costs.  VC3 was also outsourced, Sega didn't develop it.

Looking back though, I think they should've just stuck to PS3 and added in 360 ports.  VC2-3 probably would sold the same in Japan, and assuredly would've sold a ton better everywhere else.  Honestly, I'm not even sure VC3 will release outside Japan at this point, PSP in the west is literally a dead system.

Last one (Digimon Story: Lost Evolution in 2010) did about 35k 1st week, and it had a huge promotion behind it.  The 80k one (Digimon World: Dusk/Dawn) was way back in early 2007.

If I'm not wrong and Digimon Story: Lost Evolution is the previous Digimon game, this new Digimon has sold exactly the same amount.

Digimon Story: Lost Evolution --- 36,105 / 51,713

Digimon Story: Super Xros Wars - Blue / Red  --- 35,752 /

Dissidia: 012 (Duodecim) Final Fantasy tanked, in my opinion the first one was very poor gameplay-wise,

Yeah, I thought it was kinda okay, but looking back it really is a huge drop (Dissidia did 500k 1st week, which Duodecim probably won't even manage lifetime).  The retail blogs are saying it's a bomb, and the price collapses have started (already 25% off on amazon).  Nomura am cry.

The bundle did pretty well... people probably just want it for the PSP though, lol.
