Just started playing, great game so far. Definately blows DA2 out of the water.

It runs reasonably well on medium on my 1 year old Geforce GT 230 at 1280x1024. I turned light shafts on but all blur effects off (hate them), bloom disabled (also annoying) and ssao disabled (too slow) for good framerates. Too bad it's not optimized for quad core, half the cpu is running idle during the game.

I would like a full screen option without the black bars and bigger fonts though. Some of the text is almost unreadable. No point in playing this on the tv with the tiny font.

Yeah down with blur and bloom in most cases it's just anoying

So just like the first witcher it's not well optomised for multi core eh that's a bummer, I remember that the first game reccomended a duel core but was single threaded and heavaly CPU bound it was a desaster.

And I thought that the 16:9 or black bars attitude was only for console ports like Assassin's creed, lucky I just got a seccond hand 16:9 monitor, pity my 5770 will probably choke at 1080p tho... I should finnally be able to play the game in a few days. The wait is killing me!

I'll look for screenshot comparisons about the effects, it's annoying to change & re-run the game to see what happens. I'm satisfied with the FPS though (didn't run fraps yet), and I only disabled motion blur and didn't activate ubersampling and another option in the end. texture space is also large. I haven't played Crysis 2, but I can't recall any other PC game looking like this one.

I'm doing some errands in Flotsam now, I'm STILL getting used to combat. the game bugged on me twice during combat, I dunno how it happens, but it simply stops responding to any input. and parrying doesn't work all the time for me...

there are some people complaining about the UI in the gog forums, claiming the game was designed for consoles. I don't agree with them, but I think there are some issues of bad design though. having to quit each character screen to open the next one is certainly not "designed for consoles", it's just badly designed and I dunno how it passed testing. the "scrolling" text in diagrams is also veeeery annoying, I also don't know how it was approved. and there should be a way to sort the inventory too. all these 3 could be fixed, but I believe the scrolling text and sorting could be EASILY patched, and I hope they do.

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

I have a I5 santybridge 2300k 2.9ghz

Nvidia gt460 overclocked

8gb 1333mhz. With those specs you can play on high at 1680 *1050 .

Fun game, runs well on my overclocked 4890/c2q @720p.

The comat has definately taken a page from Demon's Souls. I've only beat the prologue, but I can say that the combat is massively better than witcher 1.  Since this killed the first for me, I couldn't be happier with how they handled it this time around.

Excellent, devs that try to improve not only appearance still exist. Nice also to know that despite what clumsy haters tried to fool people into believing with biased fake reviews against it, it looks like TW2 is living up to expectations.

TW2 is amazing!  I think it takes the crown for me for best graphics.  The atmosphere is unreal.

I have an i5 2400 sandybridge with a 560ti and I'm getting 35-45fps with ultra settings except for uber.  Enabling uber drops my fps to about 15 and it's unplayable at that framerate, especially with the motion blur.

I got started late because I wasn't done The Witcher by launch day although I did install it and log in briefly to see how well it ran.

I'm early into Chapter 1 at the moment.

Be aware that parrying is tied to your vitality so if you cast signs and parry a lot then eventually will be too tired and not able to parry.

Very good! This reminds me, in different contexts and modalities, of excellent games of the past where you had to manage heat, energy, shields and carefully dose your attacks with energy weapons instead of mindlessly blasting away at enemies, like Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries and Terra Nova.

PS: America needs more hype!

My modest ATi 5750 can deal to provide me with awesome graphics for this game... I can't imagine what I could do with the 6850 I wanted prior to getting it.

This is a very beautiful game.

it looks stunning on my 5770 with only a few performance issues in the most intensive areas. I wish I had a system that could handle whatever UberSampling is.
