I'll look for screenshot comparisons about the effects, it's annoying to change & re-run the game to see what happens. I'm satisfied with the FPS though (didn't run fraps yet), and I only disabled motion blur and didn't activate ubersampling and another option in the end. texture space is also large. I haven't played Crysis 2, but I can't recall any other PC game looking like this one.
I'm doing some errands in Flotsam now, I'm STILL getting used to combat. the game bugged on me twice during combat, I dunno how it happens, but it simply stops responding to any input. and parrying doesn't work all the time for me...
there are some people complaining about the UI in the gog forums, claiming the game was designed for consoles. I don't agree with them, but I think there are some issues of bad design though. having to quit each character screen to open the next one is certainly not "designed for consoles", it's just badly designed and I dunno how it passed testing. the "scrolling" text in diagrams is also veeeery annoying, I also don't know how it was approved. and there should be a way to sort the inventory too. all these 3 could be fixed, but I believe the scrolling text and sorting could be EASILY patched, and I hope they do.

Be aware that parrying is tied to your vitality so if you cast signs and parry a lot then eventually will be too tired and not able to parry.

Very good! This reminds me, in different contexts and modalities, of excellent games of the past where you had to manage heat, energy, shields and carefully dose your attacks with energy weapons instead of mindlessly blasting away at enemies, like Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries and Terra Nova.
