Forums - Sales - Microsoft to cut the Xbox price this June, Nintendo and Sony soon to follow

While i agree all 3 will have price cuts this year i am not sure Microsoft will go first, its possible a 360 price cut at E3 will counter 3DS and NGP momentum, but Nintendo is sure to do a late price cut - prob mid november and SONY will need to do a price cut before NGP launches to avoid overshadowing NGP's launch.

Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter expects...

Well, that was disappointing. And as someone already said, the title is VERY misleading.

That's right, just one "d"

In b4 "it's addict"

Add me:

i would be REALLY surprised if Sony does cut the PS3 price to 199. that would be mindblowing.

however i think that wouldn't happen this year. i predict next year. For Ninty yes they will cut $50.

Everyone doesn't want to pay attention to Mr. Pachter and still you can't help but listen to what he says.

Like a car accident where babies covered in blood are lieing on the street with all their little and cute bodily parts flying through the air. You didn't want to look at it, but still you did.

okay then... lol.  I mean there is truth to it, but of all analogies to use...  also, those cute babies won't be cute after the accident so why would I want to look at them?

Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter ...

Stopped reading there.

Yeah. We should be warned in the thread title if it has anything to do with MP, because no-one would read it then.

Lol. You may as well say the Easter Bunny has been confirmed to exist if you're gonna cite this guy for anything.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Price Cut with Uncharted franchise season again? seems plausible.

Xbox has dropped prices in late summer/early fall to get buzz for the upcoming christmas season. I wouldn't expect any different.

I don't see them dropping the 360 price in the US unless Nintendo or Sony went first. It's selling quite well in the US.

It's just that simple.

The fact that the Torne bundle just got a price cut in Japan leads me to assume that a price cut to the base model will be coming sooner rather than later. Although in Japan they'll probably want to hold off at least for a little while and ride the momentum from the bundle cut and new silver model. At least in the west Sony will probably be the first to act. Since the silver model is already available in Mexico they'll probably release it in the rest of North America and Europe in due course. Maybe they'll use it as a wildcard to give a bit of a boost in the fall or holidays.
