Forums - General - Should the Libyan rebels be asking for more protests?

Joelcool7 said:

What do you think the rebels should be doing? Calling for more protests, calling for protestors to travel east into rebel controlled territory, or do you have another idea?

What should be the next move of the rebelion?

The rebels should call for US army, that's the role they should play. The army would bring good justice to Qaddafi and new pool of resources to the American people. Win-win.

More like new pool of resources for china.

At least if Iraq and Afghanistan are any indication.

China runs the most oil out of Iraq and they have nearly all the important resource mining contracts in Afghanistan, like Lithium and gold.

If anything, China owes the US one and should step in.

China;s too busy worrying about their own people then to go into another country to help the people over throw their dictator. Might send the wrong message to the Chinese people trying to get rid of their dictators lol. On a side note China has invested heavily in many African countries and are increasingly active in the Middle East. However I don't see them supporting any protestors when they themselves could face protests and unrest.

According to CNN, China spent more money this budget on internal security then they did national security. Also in the same report the reporter said their were over 200,000 protests recorded in China in 2010. I can't see the Chinese investing in anyone elses country, when the US gives them new markets for free.

lol...apparently gadaffi offered to step down if the rebels guarenteed his and his familys personal safety as well as from prosecution.    they told him to fuck off.

Well yah wouldn't you? the guy ordered his troops to kill unarmed civilians. Then when it looks like he may loose power and get killed, he asks for protection and freedom from prosecution. Seriously he needs to pay for his crimes, if I was a rebel I sure wouldn't accept those kinds of terms either.

On the other hand I heard today the rebels agreed to those demands and gave Gadaffi 24 hours to accept those terms and leave the country. Last I had heard he had not done so!
