Doesn't look better than Killzone 3 - Uncharted 2 - God of War 3 ..and not even Killzone 2 imo... (from the X360 beta, pictures and etc). Can't wait to try it out on the PS3 aswell...

Bingo.

From my Opinion, the lighting really looks better than KZ3, Uncharted 2 and Gord of War 3.  Pier 17 really shows the level of detail and lighting on the 360 which in my opinion looks just as good as the exclusives on the PS3.

I wouldn't be surprised if Crytek didn't manage to make the PS3 version look equal... they don't really have much experience on consoles...

Lighting is certainly a plus in Crysis 2 (especially in the videos available on Xbox LIVE), but that's like one of the only things it can truly write home about (especially when sized up with the best-of-the-best on the PS3 and some the best from the 360 - like Gears of War 2).

Textures, character models, set pieces, and amount happening on screen at once are some of things the mentioned PS3 exclusives (and Gears 2 on 360) have over it (again, judging from what's available now).

I think lighting in Uncharted 2 is almost as good as Crysis 2 360 Pier 17 though...and certainly in textures I think Uncharted 2 looks better because its kinda spread out so you can never point out a single place where there's a problem in graphics.

I hope they clean up the ps3 version a bit since I want to play it with uncompressed sound. I'll wait for a review of the single player first anyway, not interested in multiplayer. I still don't have a clue what crysis 2 is about apart from a guy in some special suit shooting other guys in a city. It's more worrying to me that the only news about crysis 2 is about graphics and multiplayer.

Having just played through the ice level and junk yard level in Killzone 3 I don't think crysis 2 can come close in the graphic department. It's not often I stop and just look around in amazement in console games. I usually don't like monochromatic environments but killzone 3 certainly pulls it off. I take back what I said about resistence 3 looking very yellow, I want to play that now too :)

Apparently the PC version won't even be shipped with DX11, it will only come with DX9 and they'll patch DX11 at a later date, LOL.

That's just a rumour though... but lots of people are cancelling their preorders of the PC version just for that.

I wonder if the PC version is a port from the 360 one =P

A banner stolen from some site xD

Release Final Fantasy Versus XIII nowwwwwwwwww!!! lol :P

I kinda expected that, Crytek being a PC developer and all. The Xbox 360 is just way more similar to a PC.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Will have to wait for the demo before coming up with a valid opinion, but it must be said that when nothing was made available for the PS3 port in contrast to the PC and 360 versions, it can only be taken as one of two ways: either it's SO fantastic that Crytek is simply saving their "best for last" or more realistically, it's so underwhelming that it would be impossible to hype up the technical merits of CryEngine 3 on the PS3 with actual running PS3 code, no smoke mirrors and bullshots.

Not that I wasn't planning on playing this on PC anyway, but it is a bit disappointing that CryEngine 3 on the PS3 currently appears to have been mostly marketing and PR hype to conceal mediocre performance. Can't blame the hardware: we all just played KZ3.

Another botched port à la Black Ops. I'll take the PC version, thank you.

True, but still disappointing seeing as how CryEngine 3 was supposedly written specifically to accomodate consoles.

If Crytek simply wrote it to accomodate the Xbox, that's more or less saying they optimized it to be playable on a three core CPU PC with a 5 year old GPU and 512MB of RAM.

When put in that perspective, I have to say it's still pretty impressive.

Too bad it's sounding like their software engineers are still fledgelings when it comes to optimizing code for the PS3 architecture.

I played the demo on the Xbox 360. Thought the graphics were on a par with Splinter Cell Conviction, but overall Id pick Splinter Cell as a better experience. It played like a bad version of Call of Duty (which Im not a big fan of anyway) with a slight Halo theme in it due to the aliens.

Betting there are a few PC fans out there who wont be happy about my comparisons, but chances are the game will be better on the PC.
