You're drawing a false dichotomy here; you are an outside observer, not in contrast to "true Zelda fans" (I am probably not one) but to people who play the games.

How seriously would you take me if I watched Youtube footage of Elder Scrolls games and said the same thing about them?

Anyway, look

There's no good reason not to get Twilight Princess. At this point you're making excuses. If you want to play Zelda, play it. But you don't! So you have no perspective to say what's really wrong with the series, just what keeps you from playing it.

I know. I just desperately want to have an opinion about the new Zelda lol.

No, I wouldn' take you very seriously if you said that about Elder Scrolls.

I absolutely love the look of Twilight Princess but I'm afraid that the motion controls will put me off.

The bolded: well said.

In that case, get the Gamecube version, a Gamecube controller, and a Wii. No motion controls (which were very good by the way; bow is much better)

Those are too hard to find, I've looked before.

And then there's the problem to get a whole console for just one game. That's one reason why I wanted to wait for Zelda Wii.

How about...you play Twilight Princess? You can get it for around £8 used in some places, if you want to have an opinion  at least make it an informed one

And where would I put it, in my PS3 or Xbox?

So you avoided buying a console for one game just so you could buy a console for one game?

Agreed about the bow, plus trying to play the GC version in 4:3 after seeing the Wii in 16:9 feels way too constricting for my liking.

However I personally prefer simple button presses for the sword compared to the "waggle" in the Wii version (not talking motion plus in SS here... that's different).  It's fun at first, but just giving the controller motion to activate pre-determined swipes gets old rather quick, and when fighting Puppet Zelda it just wasn't accurate enough for me.

But doing the spin attack with the motion of the nunchuck is TOTALLY BADASS!!  Worth playing the Wii version instead just for that and the widescreen, IMO.

I watched again the trailer after reading the comments here, focusing on the environment complaints - This time I paid attention to the surroundings, they looked great imo

The reason I wasn't particularly excited was the lack of info on the plot, characters, and setting of the game - I like checking that stuff out

The combat and enemies reminded me of the levels in SMG where each new level was a new experience

I still wish it was the same art style as TP - I was thinking they might've changed Skyward Sword's style considering how long it'd been since they'd showed anything from the game

Oh, and I hated the music X-P

I guess so.

I've been confused about my purchase decision of the Wii for the whole generation.
