I'll tell you what the significant problem with Monster Hunter Tri is:

Rathalos.

but yeah, i noticed that border too. I thought something was wrong with my Wii, but i noticed when i'd boot up the game that the Wii Menu still filled the screen

...

...

really?

If you ever have time, read the old Official Monster Hunter Tri thread. It's filled with all kinds of hilarious meltdowns from me about the cheapness of various monsters in the game, but none garnered my absolute pure and unadulterated loathing than that cheating red bastard, who i will maintain to this day is broken and needs to be significantly revised

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Yeah, I've read them...but I don't think anyone else sees him as 'broken', if anyone's broken it's Deviljho...

Rathalos is annoying, but not hard

Alatreon is the cheap bastard. Especially if he decides to pounce on you 3 to 4 times.

Well obviously, but Deviljho can come at any quest above HR31, so if its your first time doing a quest and he appears, you wouldn't know what to do

I know several quests which he's ruined, either killingus, running into traps etc...

a bit off topic, but I love how in MH3, I only seem to get stunned and dizzy when I'm on the verge of fainting, when I need to use a potion.

The monsters are really hard towards the end, I can really only defeat some of the later ones by using a rather cheap method consisting of me hiding behind a shield 90% of the time and attacking using a lance every now and then, hoping I won't run out of time.

That's probably because you only become dizzy after successive hits, so your more likely to need to heal

I never realised you had Tri!

Eh, Jho's kind of slow/predictable...he's not that hard. Rathalos is annoying though because of all the flying he does...but I think what's worse is all the wind he produces. I'd go in to attack and he's either landing/taking off and then makes a ton of wind and my hunter recoils and puts away his weapon and leaving him open for attack for 3 seconds...ugh. Also his "roar then fireball" attack is broken too.

Alatreon is pretty bad too...although it's because he has a ton of HP. Some runs are good, but others....

I'll go with that.

Deviljho and Alatreon are hard because they're strong and have tons of HP. Again, Jho has the whole 'any quest' thing which can mess you up early on

But Rathalos, with his flying abilities, whilst not inheritenly 'strong', is just annoying to kill, and whilst in the air, unless you're a gunner, you can't hit it. So you're left exposed in the open for ages...

OK, I suppose. But Rathalos isn't the worst enemy in the entire game...

Deviljho was damn fun to see the first time in one of those Hr 31 quests. I couldnt wait to get better gear just to kick his ass over 50 times and get his awesome armor. He is only annoying if the team doesn't notice him walking behind them :P I've seen that happen and one bite they die lol (with crappy low rank armor). Damn I feel like playing Mh3 again but I stop myself because Uni has begun already _ I'll wait till spring break :p

I had a similar thing. I had the low rank Jhen armour and I thought I was invincible, until I was one-shotted by it when doing the Querepco quest

Jho's interferance i never had too too much trouble with. If we were all in the same room, i'd try to position myself so that the target monster was between Jho and i, then let all that overpoweredness do my work for me
