I live in Japan and played around with my friend's DS today..

I dunno, I wasn't all that impressed with it.

He only had street fighter though... but most of the time we ended up turning the 3D mode off.

The analog stick is fucking horrible, I can't believe it made it onto the device.

 

Of course thats not all the 3DS is about (although the name is.. 3D S)

 

It did have some fun features with the camera, taking pictures of your friends faces and bringing them in as enemies to the game.

 

The web browser and virtual console isn't working as of right now either.

They announced uncharted and call of duty right? why wouldn't they be aiming for the american release this year?

Hey, I don't know, I don't work for Sony...

All I know is that they said that they'll be releasing it in Japan 2011 and TBC 2012 WW, so...

Stupid I know, I'd say a release akin to the 3DS would be better, but obviously they want to cut, or try, to cut the momentum of the 3DS in  Japan in the holidays at least, probably supply or price constraints stops them having a WW launch this year...

No doubt more info will be found at GDC this week anyway

Considering the amount of people that now play in the metro, the buss or anything with their cellphones, I doubt playing with a console in public can be considered geeky... And the blue is definitely not girly, if anything it has character where the black one lacks it, resembling a DS.

If you're afraid of being robbed, get a black one, more conspicuous.

If you're afraid of being girly... don't ask you mom, you're 17 ffs, if all your friends will have a black one, then you're original and at least you'll be able to find yours! If they all have blue ones... well you're just part of the pack.

On NPG... that definitely will not be the same price... Do you prefer DS or PSP? cause if DS then there's no questions, if PSP... the 3DS will get more hard core games than the DS, i'd put it akin to DS/PSP, though the NPG will get more... closer to home consoles.
