Animal Crossing 3D $39.99
Mario Kart 3D $39.99
Paper Mario 3D $39.99
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D $39.99
Kid Icarus: Uprising $39.99
Star Fox 64 3D $39.99

What are you thinking?!!!

Don't spread wrong infos like this.

This list from Gamestop means nothing.

All these games will be released on the second half of this year, not before E3.

And there is a good chance that two, or at least one, of them will be released only next year(i would guess Mario kart and Paper Mario).

Sorry I don't mean to post wrong info but that is the only info I can find.  I probably should have put warning that it isn't definite.  Anyways, I don't think that those games will be pushed back as far as a year.  Since Gamestop has a monopoly on video games in USA I take some of their info a little more than just estimates.  However, you can't trust them either.

Not to mention that all but Kid Icarus are pretty much straight N64 ports/remakes and available on Wii VC for much cheaper.

I am getting a 3DS myself but I dislike the fact that it has too many of these to start out. It is very much like PSP when it started out.

Also he is worried about Pokemon and Black/White are regular DS titles and coming out next Sunday.

....Straight ports?

Paper Mario is the next one

Mario Kart is the next one like every handheld verison before it.

AC is the next one even how little they change >_>

And KI as you said is revived IP.

So no they are not all ports/remakes only two of them.

Former something....

No.

Like Blacksaber said, only Star Fox and Zelda are remakes.

All the others are new games.

Mario Kart will play exactly like MKWii, which plays just like MK64, which plays just like MKDS.

Animal Crossing... has it ever changed?

StarFox 64 3D... port.

Ocarina of Time. Port with some enhanced graphics, most noticably Link's face.

Haven't 100% checked Paper Mario so maybe it is new.

Still, much of it porting. Resident Evil for example is just the Mercenaries thing from one of the console titles isn't it? That is what I have read anyways.

Point is that the lineup is pretty weak when you really get down to it. I don't consider a game like AC to be "New" when it is the same exact thing only packaged with a new skin.

If you do, then more power to you. I am only calling it how I see it.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

What does MK3DS bring to the table that MKWii, MK64 or MKDS did not? Of course other than 3D.

I am genuinely curious.

Also realize that I feel this way about almost all racers so maybe they all are meant to really be the same thing just repackaged with extra cars and shit.

Thinking this way all the Zeldas, Halos, Uncharteds, Mass Effects, Dragon Ages, Fables, Infamous, Fallouts, Marios, Pokemons and any other sequels are just the same game compared to their predecessors because they have the same core gameplay.

Even Pokemon has improvements on each new game, little improvements, but has.

The Mario kart Wii has many gameplay improvements compared to the 64 version. I have both games and can say that.

personally, i'd suggest you wait.

the list of games releasing the on the 3DS is pretty sparse so far and that june 2nd thing posted above is inaccurate.  NGP might release this year in japan but outside of there it won't release until next year for sure and then just like the 3DS now -- it will have a sparse initial line up.

waiting is to your advantage because you won't have many games to play this first year anyways and in a year when the games start really coming out there is mostly likely going to be a new model with a better screen or longer battery life or more internal memory or whatever and possibly at a lower price.

early adapters always get screwed.

what do you suggest i buy then? should i build a computer? buy an ipad 2?

buy both since their release date is so far away from each other, nearly a year most probably...

Sony have already announced that the NGP will be Japan-Only this year at best, so...

As for the 3DS, have a look at some videos from Japan of the games, read reviews, previews, AR videos etc.

Then make up your own choice, but I'd say its worth it...

(Note: The CVG review of the 3DS is about 2,000 words long and very balanced, worth a read for anyone who's interested in getting one...)

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
