yea i think im leaning more toward a ps3, but i really dont want to miss out on shadow complex, which i just remembered now. ill have to see what ms announces at e3

and sethnintendo, dont worry, wii is by far the best console for me, im just trying to see which system will provide me with the most games that i want to play other than the wii.

and whoever said get a computer, i cant really play pc games, i dont really like kb m and i never got into playing that  money computer games. the only pc games i ever got into heavily were the sims, roller coaster tycoon, some generic fpses, and other sim games/civilization. but thanks for the suggestion.

i guess im going to wit a little more, but please keep the suggestions coming. im gonna save this thread and look at it whenever i do get an hd console so i know what games to get.

If you like NIS then its the PS3.

Cheap party games, both are great, unless you get kinect, then 360 is better.

TP adventure, PS3 : Uncharted is the perfect example. There are others too, like Heavy Rain.

360 has fable 2 though, which was awesome and there's fable 3 as well.

I would personally go with the PS3 on this one.

Platformers: It would be your preference because both have some good platformers in my experience. Ratchet and clank was great and so is LBP2, but 360 has limbo and super meat boy so its your choice.

Shooters: They have almost the same no of shooters. PS3 is releasing like 4 shooters this year itself like socom, resistance, killzone(already released) and uncharted.

Strategy/sim: 360 has halo wars so you may like that.

If you like Nippon Ichi get a PS3 for disgaea

Time for hype

i'd say ps3 for the simple reason that the ps3 has waay more exclusives so you have a much larger library of amazing games to choose from.  Also, psn being free will save you a lot of money in the long run.

as far as list wars go...ps3 games i personally loved:

demon souls, valkaria chronicles, ratchet and Clank (Tools of destruction, quest for booty, crack in time, and i'm looking forward to All 4 one), lbp 1 and 2 (although if you get lbp2 you probably don't need 1), uncharted (1 was good, 2 was amazing, looking forward to 3 very much), mod nation racers, kz (2 and 3), infamous (1 was amazing, 2 looks even better), god of war (3 and collection), heavy rain, 3D Dot game heroes, sly cooper collection.

on psn echochrome, wipeout HD, pixal junk eden and shooter,  ..there are a lot of other great psn games in my collection but i'm less sure of their exclusive status.

coming out later is: twisted metal, last guardian.

move is pretty good btw: RE5 Gold edition was a blast, echochrome 2 was good, looking forward to sorcery, playstion move Heroes, sorcery, under siege.

notable multiplats not on wii (just in case you need a better case still to ditch the wii for an HD console); batman arkam aslyum, arkam city, portal 1 and 2, resident evil, assassins creed, bioshock (1 not 2), dragon age (1 and 2), mass effect (2 at least is multiplat),

bingo. For better or worse, PS3 is the only console Nippon Ichi seems to acknowledge

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

dude, im not gonna list any games, cause everyone else has been kind enough to do so. you said you're considering xbox360 for shadow complex. man, no one in their right mind considers a console purchase for a single xbox live/psn game. those things tend to last up to 6 hours tops (dunno about shadow complex), but you must want so much more on the 360 than JUST shadow complex to consider it.

based on your taste, i would recommend the ps3, it caters to your genres, has your favorite RPG games, and as someone previously mentioned, will most likely be supported longer by sony than microsoft with 360. so when the generation is over (which is when you are planning to make your HD purchase), chances are, sony will still be releasing solid titles on the ps3. which is good for you.

also, the last thing you wanna do is pay a subscription fee to play xbox live when the generation has ended and most core players have moved on to the next generation. doesn't sound like money well spent to me. you'll be paying to play on mostly dead servers (except for a few highly supported games like CoD/Halo/Gears). At least by that point, PSN is free and if the online community for the game you are playing is dead, you can tilt your cap sideways and throw up the double-birdie in the air like you just don't care.

stop wasting your time thinking and just get a ps3.

DKHustlin, you should clearly get the X360.

Normally I would say get the PS3 but you just named all the big PS3 exclusives and said u didnt like them.

So its better for u to get X360 for cheaper price and for multiplatforms, Xbox LIVE and stuff. Probably the majoriti of your friends are on Xbox LIVE.

Halo Wars was the best RTS I've played to date, on a console. There is also Supreme Commander and Civilization: Revolutions available, although I think the latter is multiplatform. In any case I think you'd find most of the games that you do find "interesting" are likely to be on both consoles. I'd personally go with whichever one is cheaper and get the other one when you have more spare cash available, both offer great and versatile libraries and share plenty-a-games, just some are cheaper on different consoles.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

On X360 u can get:

Alan Wake, Fable 2 & 3, Splinter Cell conviction and Left 4 Dead 2 since u said u like third person adventure .

&

Gears of War 1&2&3 and Metro 2033 since u said u like shooters.

&

Halo Wars since u said u like strategy.

And there's lots of casual party games on Xbox and Kinext too but I dont remember their names.

Uncharted 2 and Valkyria Chronicles

Two games that are imho among the best gaming has seen, ever
