yoyo everyone, i am interested in getting an hd system prolly at the end of this gen, so everything is really cheap. i have played my roommates ps3, trying out a lot of the big ps3 games, but i left college a year ago. i know a lot of games have come out for the hd twins, but i havent really followed them. i have too many wii games, which is another reason im holding off, i just wanna experience any games that are must plays for me. can you guys recommend some of the must-plays you think of when you think of ps3/360?

i have played fallout 3, uncharted 1, demons souls, infamous, sf4, re5, resistance, kz2, halo3/odst/reach, and i dont like racing games/sports games, so please dont recommend those. the only game i really liked above was fallout 3, so please keep that in mind too. are there any games you guys know of, maybe hidden gems that you could name so i can help decide wether to take the plunge? thanks.

Platformers I would point you towards the PS3, mainly for LBP. There are a few gems on PSN too.

RPGS, you could go either way, although NIS are releasing DIsgaea 4 on PS3 and Hyperdimension Neptunia just released on PS3. Ar Tonelico is releasing too I think, PS3 Exclusive. PS3 has my favorite RPG released this gen though, Valkyria Chronicles.

Party games again you could go either way. Both consoles have the fair share of them.

Third Person... Adventure? Hmm... ICO/Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian are releasing on the PS3.

Strategy/Sim I would say go to the 360, because Halo Wars is supposed to be excellent. Also has a whole bunch of C&C and Age of Empires.

Shooters, could go either way depending on what kind of shooter you're after. Call of Duty is ripe on both. 360 has Halo/Gears and PS3 has your Killzone/Resistance/Uncharted combo. Both consoles have lots of 3rd party shooters to go with.

hahah thanks, im split still hahah ill wait for some more posts

but i know nis games have come out on ps3, which is big for me. disgaea3/4 are big pulls and hyperdimension neptunia is big, but not big enough for me to get a ps3 for alone.

i also remembered i played mgs4 already as well, and braid. can you guys also incluse psn/xbox arcade titles? and mm9 and mm10 i have on the wii already, so those dont count.

Don't forget Ratchet & Clank Tools of Destruction and Ratchet & Clank: A crack in time, two of my favourite platformers/shooters this gen!

Also lbp2 is a brilliant platformer! You could spend days playing this! Also Mass effect 2 is a great rpg (but the first mass effect is only on xbox360 not ps3)

as said before by Carl2291- Valkyria Chronicles is amazing! My favourite rpg this gen, plus demon souls is very good, although very hard! :)

Infamous, Uncharted are both good choices for third person action/adventure.

At the end of the day you can't go wrong with either console, but I'd reccomend ps3 for you , if you like platformers, rpgs, and third person action adverture more.

Ps3 has move so there you go.

from what I read from you, and you like japanese games/rpgs, its definately the ps3. Final fantasy versus coming next year for example, and ni no kuni, and all the other stuff I have no idea about :D

I'd say get a PS3.  Sony will probably support it longer than Microsoft supporting the 360.  Also, the PS3 seems to fit you better considering the genres you prefer (their exclusives fit you better than 360, such as LBP).  A game already mentioned for the PS3 that you would probably like a lot (since you like strategy games) would be Valkyria Chronicles (never played it but I watched a friend play it and it look pretty damn fun).  I can't believe I am supporting Sony so much right now... Anyways, get the PS3.
