Ignore this member ^

He did nothing of the sort.

Here check out this interview with geohot from yesterday. He even says himself he deliberately did what he could to stop pirated games in his firmware.

The last thing i read they were taking him to civil court for violating the psn tos. But i could be wrong. Does anybody know if they have added more charges?

I can't wait to pirate all the games!

That is quite correct, geohot is being sued in civil court. Under no circumstances can the result of this trial be geohot going to prison.

A massive 3 posts to your name and you've already used 2 to prove that you neither bothered to read the article nor have any clue about the issue at hand.  Congrats are in order.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

Nice read, I'm just waiting now for someone to do a good article on how hackers basically made computing what is is today.  People have no idea what most hackers do and what they have accomplished, like Ssliasil, he apparently has no clue that Bill Gates and Steve Jobs started as hackers.  Some hackers do illegal stuff but the vast majority just want to tinker with stuff they own and make it do stuff it wasn't designed for.  They are real innovators that put in hours of work with no pay just for kicks.  It's an amazing culture.

I am glad the article went into some of Geohotz accomplishments outside of jailbreaking because folks don't realize how intelligent this guy really is.  People complain about him being arrogant but I think most of us would be to if we gained the fame he has simply by tinkering with stuff he owns.

I don't believe that. I can agree that there are some out there who did it for pleasure and to tinker but a lot of them just want to steal.

He answered the question, I don't think he's the person who needs to read here.

He answered it in a way that proved that A) he didn't read the article and that B) he has no clue what is going on.
